'The Man' Beats 'The Machine'
Anthony Mundine last night settled the score with arch rival Danny Green at
Australia Stadium in Sydney last night in front of 30,000 fans.
Mundine is now being descibed (by his coach)  as up there with Ali and Sugar Ray....
A World Title would help back up this hype bit many are now starting
to believe he is 'The Man' to do it..time will tell.

Ian Thorpe

Ian Thorpe finally succumbed to illness
and today pulled out of the 2006 Commonwealth Games
which begin in Melbourne in just over a week.
Nearly unable to speak due to illness and emotions he told a news
conference today he had to pull out.
He has spent the last 3 weeks laid up ,mainly watching TV....
and has barely been in the pool at all for any serious training...
This is sad news for Aussie sporting fans, Thorpey himself and the Games Organizers
who need this like a hole in the head....

THE BUZZ ON CRICKETHi all, Welcome to ' Buzz off the bat'

Hi all,

Just because I haven’t been on air for a while doesn’t
mean I haven’t been keeping an eye on the cricket.

Ponting, Symonds, Hussey, Hayden, Martyn.
What the bloody hell is going on?
Why is it that Australian batsmen seem to be so
comfortable scoring runs like

mad bastards while the rest of the world piss-farts around?

South Africa did well, but when push came to shove
Ponting and Hayden spanked their bottoms very, very hard.

20/20 may well have been an expression of Damien Martyn’s
visual capabilities rather than a form of the game as he
non-surgically generated a proverbial new orifice for the RSA boys.

Sri Lanka?  Some players arrive without their bags,
but in this case it appears the bags may have arrived without the players.
What was that? Sri Lanka, winners of cricket’s world cup
through their own pioneering brand of unconventional,
aggressive batting, fell over like the regulars
in the back bar at the Paradise Hotel making a thinly veiled
attempt at chasing Australia’s stupidly big target
(thanks Symo, Marto, Clarky, etc). What next?

Notice anything? No need (yet) to mention Adam Gilchrist,
the greatest exponent of “beat the shit out
of the bowlers” I have ever seen.

Adam Gilchrist in action

(* After publication of this article, Gilchrist proceeded to
go out for a first ball duck tonight and was subsequently
'rotated' from the side for 2 games...shit I hate it when that happens.)

Shape up 'Gilly' I have a reputation to uphold....

Now those of you who enjoy a contest should pick another sport,
at least short-term, because this summer is going
to be a big fat pile of mess, and one bloke by the name of
Ponting is going to be sitting astride it at the end
with arms full of trophies and cash.

Back shortly,

Buzz.
