At the last meeting here the rail was 7m and on-pacers won every race. Previously they were using all of the track here... This is a tough track to predict any patterns, watch and monitor where winner's and place-getters are coming from through the day and factor in tempo. In Sydney racing is at ROSEHILL. Ratings are for HEAVY track. Rail is True. Doubt run-ons will have any problems... BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Each-Way Bet) SANDOWN - Race 3 No.4 - INCENTATE - Good sneaky little run last Saturday when held-up at a vital stage, waited for run, got out and found the line nicely. Good fourth prior at Hillside as first three home were out past centre of the track and he was stuck on inside. Last two starts this distance range... two wins. Well-weighted here and the majority of this field were late noms. BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Each-Way Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 5 No.9 - LODGE THE DEEDS - Backed heavy two-back and ran very well (came wide before the turn in on-pace dominated race and ran home well) before kept coming last start behind Grand Cause and Rumbird in a strong C6. Back to C5, out to 1900m and has raced well in slow ground. BONUS: Top-Rated Runners: Race 5 - Aust Hurdle - 3400m 1. 4 - FOREST KNIGHT - How can you not love this bloke. Never runs a bad race, any conditions. Terrific last start at jumps debut and much better for the experience, only Some Are Bent beat him and he made up ground on that star in straight... 2. 2 - HASTA MANANA - First three jumps starts he won by an aggregate of 27 Lengths on the back of some very good flat form. Was not quite himself last start in traffic and scrambled through a few. Still ran well. Live chance obviously! 3. 12 - PAY THE ACES - Bolted in last start after good effort behind Swift Rule when held-up at a vital stage, may well have challenged him there and he then won city/sat hurdle nicely. Fomr-lines say he has a strong case. 4. 5 - SWIFT RULE - Two good wins around luckless fall when brought down by another runner when travelling sweetly. Flying!!! 5. 11 - PURE MALT - Covered ground at Warrnambool so the run was better than it looked. Brought down by fallen horse two-back and closed well last start. Has a case. Race 6 - Hcp - 1400m 1. 1 - DR NIPANDTUCK - Top-effort 1st-up taking the lead early in swooper's race then good win 2nd-up as not convinced he was in very best ground. Chased hard last start here but leader (Live In Vain) led all the way on bit of a leader's track. In very nicely with 55kg after the claim. 2. 7 - BIRD DANCER - Flew home from a mile back here last start in on-pacers day/race producing clear best sectionals. Should have won prior at Sale in WC Heat when strung-up. Can ceratinly win this on even track! 3. 8 - CANDY MAN - Forget ever ran 1st-up when never got clear at any stage. Sharply to 1400m a tiny query but certianly good enough. Has not raced beyond 1300m but his only 1300m run... he won by a space. Including. 4. 6 - ALTO ADIGE - Did a good job winning 1st-up at Sale in $35k WC Heat. Kpet fresh into this and has won twice 2nd-up. Ideally wants the track somewhere between Good and, the better-side of Slow. 5. 9 - CLEAR VIEW - 1st-up for new stable. Go back two preparations and he ran 2.8L from Navy Shaker and Royal Ida when fresh. In very light after claim from ideal draw. Goes in... Race 7 - Mares Hcp - 1400m 1. 3 - DIRTY DENIM - Good effort 1st-up in strong race in Adelaide then pressured all the way in the lead here last start 2nd-up. Peaks here and hoping for tactics/rider change and they sit behind the speed. 2. 1 - SOVEREIGN MISS - Charged at the line from 'nowhere' last start on a day not many ran on! Sat back off solid pace prior and rattled home in 22.57 which was 2nd-fasteat last 400m split of the day. In with 56.5kg after claim for good apprentice... absolutely flying this mare! 3. 14 - BELLA CASSANI - Made ground until the 100m mark 2nd-up going inside (worst ground) off good 1st-up run at Hillside finding the lien well when backed late. Fitter now and the prospect of a Good/Dead track is right up her alley. Value runner. 4. 2 - STAR KASEY - 1st-up. Resumed last prep with 3.7L 6th to Candy Man (Vs males) and had her chance but went onto good things and expecting a better mare this prep. Did win fresh prior over Reggie at 1600m. Chance! 5. 6 - EMPIRE DANCER - Came wide and ran home well at Oz debut and that form already looks strong after Cut In Stone won MV Monday. Fitter now and has won twice 2nd-up. Has a 3.5L 5th to Belle Bizarre in WA on her CV.... 6. 8 - MAJESTIC POINT - Has a strong case through same race as Empire Dancer when 4-wide and stuck on! Fitter. Include in quaddie if on-pacers day. Remember if you are a Group 1 subscriber you receive TOP-RATED RUNNERS with detailed video form-comment on EVERY RACE in Metro Sydney and Melbourne... Good Luck Friday June 8th 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at SANDOWN (Lakeside) last week was on a Heavy track, rail was 7m, there was certainly no disadvantage to on-pace runners, as long as they were away from the rail.. typically tough to read Sandown programme. RUN OF THE DAY: Going with BIRD DANCER who charged home Vs the pattern of the day. Was a mile back turning and really hit the line, just so honest... No knock on the winner of the race, LIVE IN VAIN although pattern certainly helped. DR NIPANDTUCK chased hard and HADDLE MCDADDLE looks just about ready... In Race 1 SAHIFA led and stole a break. Excellent 1st-up run from EVIL TRICKS at juicy odds... there were a few who got back here and worked hoem ok, their runs were probably much better than they looked on paper: DANDY WARHOLS, BENATAR, WAVELENGTH... Race 5 saw RUM CORPS track the favourite SCENIC ASSAULT everywhere and narrowly wore him down. They spaced third, the honest I DO BLUE. I will take any odds on BUST UP next time he runs at a shade below this level, again 3-wide the trip and gallant.. All honours with DESERT MASTER in race 7, worked around the field to lead and fought very hard to hold out MOJO PIN (every chance) and DOLPHIN JO worked home Vs the pattern. In the last DIAMOND COVE had her annual, knock me out of the quaddie, win. SOVEREIGN MISS was enormous Vs pattern and, amazingly, CENTASHANI ran home very well. On-pacers were attacked her so can forgive them... time will tell. THE FORGIVE FILE: LADY MARILYN (too wet), MIMI AND ME (worked too hard), FORCE NINE (given no hope), ALL SQUARE (took off early), MISS LA TAR (ridden upside/down then in worst ground), SAFARI SUNBEAM (bit against) and BASHFUL (amiss). In Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL on a Good track, rail was 6m, and the track played well. RUN OF THE DAY: SAMTHEFLIRT in the last, got back Vs slow 49.70 1st-800m and worked home very well, had clearly the best closing sectionals of the race and some of the fastest on the day. Will win races... Off that slow pace in race 8, first two home were 1-2 all the way, THE BOXER led and BLACK PIRANHA sat up 2nd. Forgive those who got back. In Race 1 ISURAVA was impressive, sat 3wide no cover the trip and won easily, IMPRESSIONIST was 2nd and there was a further gap to third. Time was sharp 1:10.56 (faster than older horses in race 6) so expect this form to be strong. VALIDATED and SAN RICO can be followed in same class or easier with confidence, winner smart! It was a case of 'all the run-ons' in Race 2. EASY STEP sat back and flew late, was strong on the line. KIRALEE ran on super but was just no match late for the winner. STACKED had her first defeat but was not disgraced, still learning she is. Race 4 and GRAND CAUSE swept to the lead, layed-in and held off the fast-finishing RUMBIRD (best late sectionals) which continues that good form from the Scone Cup. LODGE THE DEEDS was good for slightly easier. Time for the 1500m was 1:30-flat which is a good gallop. The promising VIEWED continued on his winning way in Race 5. Came from 3rd-last down the centre... all honours. COME ON CUGAT was gallant, took over 800m out and pipped REGAL CELEB (made run with winner, just no match) for second prize.... MR JAYDEEFORTUNE was fourth and they spaced 5th... CELTIC WARRIOR ran well here, watch for easier. MISTIFIES won Race 6 in 1:10.85 sitting on modest 36.06 1st-600m tempo. SHINKICKIN COWGIRL led, ran 2nd in on-pacers race. CHATOYANT was good (best last 200m) Vs tempo as was LARA'S WAY (made good ground). There was 4-way go in Race 7. No surpirse ZAVITE and NEWPORT quinella'd it though... all honours with winner here who was left in front a way out.. runner-up just missed him! Others just dont win enough for mine... THE FORGIVE FILE: CENSORIOUS (covered ground), NARRATION (blew start), KOOKA (given no hope), HIGH HORSE (wide no cover, trip), DANEBAR (worked mid-race), SPINNING MASTER (tempo against), POWER SWITCH (ditto), MEAN BEANS (never clear) and SIR INTERDANE (ditto again). To today's selections... PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for MOONEE VALLEY are for DEAD track, rail is True and they were quickly off the inside here at the latest meeting with true rail. In Sydney racing is at RANDWICK. ratings are for HEAVY track. Rail in 9m out from 1600m-to-WP. BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Win Bet) MOONEE VALLEY - Race 2 No.13 - PONTE DE LIMA - Was hard-ridden a way out on debut but liked her last 200m (fastest of the race) indicating she wanted further (2nd there was Masked Assassin, Form!!!). Stayed at 1200m surprisingly 2nd start and was flat-footed before working home nicely late. Now gets to the 1500 in a race of less depth drawn away from rail. Keen to back her today. BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Each-Way Bet) RANDWICK - Race 8 No.11 - GO CART - Loved the way he found the line here last start (fastest last 200m sectional) off slow 48.5 1st-800m. Top win prior with big weight. Loves racing here, loves the wet and in well relative weights. $8 early looks good. For Top-Rated Runners in EVERY RACE (Metro Sydney and Melbourne) tomorrow and every Saturday, sign-up at: www.ozracingform.com Just $29.95 PER MONTH. Great Value ! Good Luck Friday May 25th 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing last week was at SANDOWN (Lakeside) on a Slow track, rail was 4m and they were off the inside rail pretty quickly. RUN OF THE DAY: The effort of DOLPHIN JO in the Andrew Ramsden Stks was unbelievable. Tragedy beaten really as it was 3-wide for the first 1200m of the race, went forward outside leader, New Kid In Town sprinted off soft run, yet Dolphin Jo was making ground off him again late and actually had the fastest last 200m sectional of the race! Amazing!!! Don't know what happened to "New Kid" last start but that was obviously his 'Sydney Cup form". DEFINIG returned to form here and found the line nicely, may need 4000m??? DESERT MASERT was enormous (see forgive file). Race 1 saw the filly MANNA MISS beat the boys and had 3rd-fastest last 200m sectional of the day in doing it. Pace was solid and SARATIME did a good job to hold second, FLASH COUPE (every chance) ran on well as did ROSLOTTA. Not sure what happened to ART HOUSE, worked forward early? Was a real blanket finish to this race... form? Race 2 saw the swoopers run 1-2: PANTENNY (Mile back/ big finish) and YOUNG LOVE (wide with trail 500m & under whip, ran home). WHITEHAVEN GIRL led, was best on-pacer in good effort. CRIMSON PRINCESS found the line very well, late, she is on the up... Race 3 saw MASKED ASSASSIN control the race outside the speed. Others: BARACHETTA (last & wide, hit line super!) and DOWN UNDER BOY (off midfield, to centre, ran on well) were good and MOMENT OF TRUTH can be followed, will win races this guy. All honours with DR NIPANDTUCK in Race 5, he got the split inside and doubt he raced in the very best ground in the straight yet still won. HANNA ROSSA flew home in fastest late sectionals of the day, very good run! FLYING OBJEST found the line, surely wants further now? JUDUSK was honest (3wide with trail) as usual. BELLINI ROSE was impressive in Race 7, sat back and wide, attacked the line in the straight. Smart! RED FOR LOU was excellent as she raced on the inside rail (why???) and made up a stack of ground. PURPLE CHOCOLATE may need a spell... Good speed about in the last and SCENIC ASSAULT 1st-up for Freedman (when will we learn?) won impressively at juicy odds. AMERRYKING got a mile back and came home in 2nd-fastest last 400m/200m secs of the day despite strong pace. MONET RULES was home nicely as was ISTA KAREEM at massive odds, and she was too close to the inside, actually matched Amerryking's last 200m! Hmmm... THE FORGIVE FILE: PINTAKA (too wet), COPAWIN (wide), GENERAL EISENHOWER (never in best spot, kept coming!), JABAL TARIK (over-raced badly), BOWHUNTER (covered ground), CHITABE (very wide), SORENSTAM (inside rail ?), PINEZERO (off the track), WATCHYERBACK (amiss), CHIACK (in worst ground), DESERT MASTER (shuffled back from 4th to near last, ran home super!), LACEY UNDERALL (too wet), SAVLATE (worst ground) and ROYAL ROBBERY (amiss). In Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL on a Dead track, rail was 3m. No bias evident. RUN OF THE DAY: HE'S CANNY, boy can he explode when right! kept fresh for this (that's the key!) he sat wide, (4-deep!) and bolted in! Big gaps to 2nd and 2nd-to-3rd always a good sign too. MILONGA had her chance outside the modest 37.11 1st-600m tempo but ran well and thought both CLEVERGAZE and ZOO CITY LAD (found trouble) ran on nicely Vs slow pace. This form should be strong. Time: 1:11.70 for 1200m To Race 1 and KICK N CHASE did a great job, yes, runner-up did it tough (wide) but this sat back last off a walking 37.19 1st-600m and ran them all down. Was a very good win at very nice odds. JORDAN VALLEY was backed on debut and ran well (kept coming/ slow pace no help) but can forgive a few here. Good speed about in race 2 (35.56 1st-600m) and MISTIFIES broke clear 300m out and held on. OUR JETSETTER flew at the line late to just miss. FACE OF THE EARTH had his chance. BROOKTON FLASH came home well from tailed off last (had equal fastest last 400m with Our Jetsetter in fact)... wants further! Again good speed in race 5. A 35.83 1st-600m set up the fastest of the 3 x 1200m races. LET ME ADAM settled 1-1, hit the lead and just held off Black Piranha who probably wins if not in bumping duel 300m!? HUNTERS REST sat outside hot pace and fought all the way. Good. LETMEENTERTAINYOU loomed to win, probably fitter. LIGHT RED ran into dead-ends into straight, peeled outside and attacked the line... very good run, unlucky!!! (best late sectionals) In Race 6 the first four home gapped the rest, they were: VIEWED (big finish), ZATTERO (just no match late), JOELLO (every chance) and REGAL CELEB (wide/worked early/ very good). This form should stand up! Race 7 saw the old mate NEWPORT come from well back off suicidal speed (leader/ runner-up was out 15L at least mid-race, Cold Start, gutsy effort!). Winner was strong on the line. MEGABUCKS sat 2nd a mile back and stuck to task admirably. AUSBRED KING also faced the breeze on hot pace and ran well. There were a few frauds in this! In the last the John Hawkes pair fought it out. HUNTERS MOON led, got away before turn and held on, just from REFEREES who did attack the line and just missed. They gapped third, SYNONYM who found the line well. LODGE THE DEEDS was backed heavy, came wide no trail turning and closed well, he can be followed. THE FORGIVE FILE: IMPRESSIONIST (3wide then 4wide), SCISSION (very wide run), SCORCHED EARTH (wide), RIGHTSON (amiss), DUBAI'S CHIOCE (big betting drift/ fitter), LIVELY BIRD (very wide) and KING OF THE NILE (4wide then 3wide, never gave in). To today's selections... PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for MOONEE VALLEY are for GOOD track. Rail is True which usually means run-ons get their chance. In Sydney racing is at RANDWICK, rail is out 2M from 1600m-to-WP. Ratings are for GOOD track. There were no problems on-pace here two weeks back with a true rail on Dead ground. BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Each-Way Bet) MOONEE VALLEY - Race 3 No.3 - MUZDAHER - 1st-up run was much better than it looks on paper as he sat 3 & 4 wide no cover on dynamite leader's track yet kept coming! 2nd-up last prep he charged late and just missed undefeated star Here De Angels at this track and trip. In 1kg over the limit for gun apprentice and drawn well. $7 on sportsbet Friday morning. BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Win Bet) RANDWICK - Race 7 No.1 - PRECISE TIMING - Admit to be very keen on him in strong Scone Cup but they were sweeping down the outside rail which made his "good" gate useless and he raced in inferior ground. Still made ground there. Previous run was phenomenal sitting 3 & 4 wide, went forward and just kept coming in Civic Stks which included Friday Creek (4th - then won well Qld), he actually had 2nd fastest last 200m split despite tough run. Out to 1800m a plus, in with 56.5kg after claim a plus (54kg limit). *** REMEMER: For our Top-Rated runners in Melbourne and Sydney with detailed video-form comments sign-up at: www.ozracingform.com ...for just $29.95 per month (that's $6.71 per week !) Good Luck ! Friday May 11th 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at MOONEE VALLEY last week was on a DEAD track, rail was 5M, and the track played very well. RUN OF THE DAY: Very smart win from COUNT TO ZERO who looked 100/1 coming to the turn. 1200m is not his ideal trip either and I know stable really rate him... can be followed... Other good runs in that race: BOWHUNTER (got runs through, nutted on line, flying at this trip of late), DR NIPANDTUCK (joined in turn, peaked on run 1st-up, come back well) and DUNES (wide a way out, kept coming). They ran 1:12.41 which was .21 slower than smart mare Hanna Rossa in the last. Speaking of the last won by that smart mare (always runs good sectionals), and all honours to her. FEARLESS WATERS hit the line (had faster last 400m than winner) and should have finished a bit closer (held-up on turn). FANFARES was pleasing late depsite not being fully tested and SPUN OUT had 3rd-fastest late sectionals behind 1-2 home. To Race 2 and AMBERINO impressed. Got back with the pace on, came outside and finished all over the top of her rivals. Runner-up KARLA'S JOIE hit the lien nicely ridden back. It was a real swooper's race (34.78 1st-600m) with 1st, 2nd coming from last and second-last. BLISSA NOVA (leader) stuck on well and run was better than it looked. Race 3 and GENERAL EISENHOWER made a mess of his rivals, took over on turn and raced away! This form should hold up as there were big margins 1st-to-2nd-to-4th etc etc. PROTESA worked home well from the tail. BARACHETTA had 3rd-fastest late sectionals but never threatened. Time: 1:35.58 for the 1523m. Race 7 saw FLASH COUPE continue on his winning way. Funny race this, leaders ran along, then stacked them up, then the runs came 6-deep a long way out. Rider on Flash Coupe did not panic which was important the way this race panned out. SARATIME did a good job leading for reasons stated above. ROSLOTTA was terrific and may well have won if had more galloping room into straight. Time for the 1600m was 1:39.23 THE FORGIVE FILE: BIG DADDY COOL (wide/ went forward early), CAROUSER (wide run), CLAVILLO (beaten by walking tempo), SAVLATE (wide early/ slow pace/ bit against), DELSANTO (came wide), TOMKINS (took off mid-race) and FUJI FANTASY (4-wide too soon). In Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL. Track was DEAD, rail was True and run-ons had no problems. RUN OF THE DAY: Thought BOBADAH should have won the Civic Stks, was just strung-up for a stride then absolutely launched at FLAMING to just miss. Big long-strider who can go on... Others there: FRIDAY CREEK (led 1st-up 1400m, don't sack), PRECISE TIMING (wide mid-race, kept coming & hit line, very good run) and DOUBLE DARE (2nd-fastest last 400m, only Bobadah was faster late)/ They ran 1:23.82 so the track had the sting out for sure! Race 1 and winner, runer-up were clearly the best runs in it. KYROS led on her ear, own pace and just held off SACRED MOON who really attacked the line (good late sectionals off 49.21 1st-800m. Best run in race!). They ran 1:24.85 for the 1400m. Race 2 and BLACK PIRANHA sprinted hard when he saw daylight. Speed looked ok up front so INTERFERE did a good job on the speed (had cover behind), LIVELY BIRD came from last and widest and ran home gamely (only winner had better splits home). LET ME ADAM fought on well in swooper's race. Time: 1-5.06 HAIRY was quite strong on the line in Race 3 and was too strong for MISS PORTOFINO, they both raced on-pace. CATCH THE BIRD was the one flying home and did find the line nicely. Time: 1:11.90 Race 6 was a real swooper's race. First four home occupied last four spots at the 600m. They were: PRINCE OF TRUTH (came right away late, impressive win), DONT TELL PAT (looked winner, no match late), REGAL CELEB (came widest) and VIEWED (hit the line well for further). ABRUPTIONS was probably the best on-pacer and did it despite covering ground. Good run! All honours with the winner SPY ZAIM in the last who led, was taken on, came off rail in straight and kept kicking. Ran .37 slower than Prince Of Truths but had a 1 second slower (around 6 Lengths) 1st-900m. COMMANDING VICTORY tried hard was just no match and EMPIRES CHOICE came home nicely (best late sectionals, still only 1 win ???) THE FORGIVE FILE: CLASSIC ROCKET (wide early, worked forward), XAVIER (slow out/ over-raced badly/ came very wide/ was backed), ENARELLE (wide run), ANNINSPIRATION (nearly fell turn), MISTIFIES (4-wide), NO NAME FOR A LADY (came 4-wide too soon, stuck on well), MARITESS (checked when one broke down), GROUNDWORK (not enough room), MEAD (worked too hard) and GYPSY HONOUR (wide run). To today's selections... PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for CAULFIELD are for GOOD track, rail is 12M. Track has been playing very well. All ratings for RANDWICK are for GOOD/DEAD track, rail is True. They were off the inside here 14/4 with rail out 9m. Protected ground inside today but run-ons have had their chance of late here. BET OF THE DAY (Caulfield - Win Bet) CAULFIELD - Race 3 No.2 - ANTIDOTES - Got a mile back last time but really stretched out nicely late when finally out to 1400m on top of the ground. The winner there, Art House, then thrashed Okay Oky here (was impressive). 1400m form includes a second to Court Command in G2 company in fast time. Been gelded this prep and expecting good things. BET OF THE DAY (Randwick - Win Bet) RANDWICK - Race 8 No.8 - WESTICARO - Been far from disgraced his last couple behind Reigning To Win and Danleigh (two top-class racehorses) and back to this grade, back to 1200m are big ticks! He broke the track record (3yo!) 1st-up four starts back then had no luck racing up on suicidal speed 2nd-up. Gate 15 so needs pattern in favour OR to go forward and sit outside lead OR... some luck and he should be in front at the end of the race BONUS THIS WEEK (for no reason) Top-Rated Runners: (feature at Randwick) Race 5 - 2yo Hcp - 1100m 1. 1 - XAARDANTE - Absolutely bolted in on wet ground at WFM (most impressive) but no knock on dry-track form prior around Group winner Downhill Racer and ran ok behind star filly Danehill Smile also when crossed the line with some good fillies! Nominated for both here and Caulfield (probably looking for wetter of the two states, umm, it's here!) 2. 7 - CENSORIOUS - Box-seated and had every chance last start, however, she did hook out into that 3-4wide lane where not many were able to sustain runs there and it was her first look at a heavy track, and she was 1st-up. Winner there Cent Per Cent looks well above-average. 3. 2 - RICHAZ - Fought hard all the way home last start holding off Cencorious for third when out to 1200m for the first time. Easy work in Wellington Boot prior at 1100m. That Cent Per Cent form should be strong. Jockey having a run of outs but this can win. 4. 9 - CAT FLAP - 1st-start for Rogerson and trial win was impressive. Stable going well with debutantes in both Sydney and Melbourne of late. In with 52.5kg. Looks a runner! 5. 5 - SOVIET UNION - Has done more than enough in all three runs to date (first campaign) in some good races. Found the line well Goldam (them crossed the line with Xaardante in Inglis behind Danehill Smile) then was wide all the way and just 2.4L off De Jetcat... over the odds. * Risking fav Forcing Thru. Sure, it can win but looks 'unders' Good Luck ! Friday May 4th 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at CAULFIELD last week was on a Dead track. Rail was 7m, track played ok. RUN OF THE DAY: Probably BELLINI ROSE, her effort to score coming from well back off a 49.33 1st-800m (only 2nd-up) was terrific. Stable think she can go on to group company... ..well, she did run down a darn good mare in SPEEDY ROSSA (good effort 58kg), APOLINA ran third, she's a battler though. PARIS RETURN (2L last into straight, got going late, had fastest last 200m) was a good run for further. Time: 1-24.67 Race 1 for the 2yo's saw DIPLOMATIC FORCE win (from 2nd-last, swept down centre) and beat MASKED ASSASSIN (worked, went through inside, gallant when headed) and these two gapped the rest. LOVE'S GREAT (filly Vs boys) did a good job and ZIVALEE (on debut, battled on well, kept finding line) was also good. Time: 1-4.28 (1100m) off a 35.29 1st-600m. Race 2 saw the expensive ART HOUSE win well, yes he had a modest tempo in his favour but love the way he dropped OKAY OKY inside the 100m and came right away again... is still on a sharp upward spiral. (actually had fastest last 200m split). SLOW TALKIN WALTER never left rail and came home ok, TOMKINS hit the line well, late out wide after being held-up slightly. Time: 1-24.17 (48.21 1st-800m) Good speed on in Race 4 (47.89 1st-800m) and THE BLACK ROD went out after leader, GUILD, who looked home, and got up! Runner-up did a huge job kicking away off a fast pace and she can be followed. FUJI FANTASY is back in toen (came widest, ran on well) and liked the way BLUE STOCKING found the line. DIATREME was another to hit th eline (copped check turn too). They ran 1-36.97 for the 1600m Race 5 over the 2000m was on-pace dominated. Fav RHOMBUS LAD led, was joined before turn but came away again late for strong win. MOJO PIN kept coming well off winner's back, had chance. EDSCAPE ARTIST is super-honest and watch for HASTA MANANA when he gets to the jumps!!! HASSLE flew home from mile back in leader-dominated race and had the best late sectionals of the day! Pace was on in Race 6 but it didn't stop POSADAS going all the way. Good tough classy win. GOING SPENDING rattled home (best secs of race) and ROCKFORD BAY through along inside rail did a good job fresh. PARIS ZERO returned to form. A good gallop of 1-3.73 off 34.05 1st-600m was recorded for the 1100m here. LIVE IN VAIN was a tearaway leader in Race 7 and held-off the fast-finishing AMERRYKING. Ran good time of 1-22.80. ITSAMONTY hit th eline nicely (best last 400/20m sectionals) and HACHIMAN came home well for wetter. RAISE A CALL certainly did enough (sectionals very sound). In the last... AMARAZETTI, who couldn't win with 'no weight' recently, decides to come out and roll MISTAKE CREEK... ridden closer probably helped. Runner-up did a good job breaking away off crowded leading division before turn. PRAIRIE ROSE did a good job, found line after being held-up and GO BENDIGO ran on super (2nd-fastest late splits). DEA has got 'life'... Time: 1-4.67 for 1100m. THE FORGIVE FILE: LET LOUSHE (squeezed out, held-up twice, still hit line, good !), ITS PRINCE (took off wide mid-race), WILDCOAST (wide), TIMELESS PLEASURE (everything against), STANZOUT (plenty against), STARKEY (very wide). In Sydney, racing was at ROSEHILL on a HEAVY track. Rail was 6m. Track??? Not sure, it seemed to be no disadvantage at all on inside rail yet some were avoiding it, horses (often well-fancied) peeled to centre then only 'one-batted'... hmmm RUN OF THE DAY: Thought LOVELY LUCY was excellent here 2nd-up. Sat 4-wide, lost ground turn, came very wide yet kept closing well...and was probably in the worst part of the track... other good runs in Race 4: The winner NERVATE was terrific, ridden back (and patiently) saved ground inside then switched over heels and got them all... Top win! Also, ENJOIN, didn't get enough room in straight, should have finished closer, ran well. Race 2 saw an impressive youngster in CENT PER CENT come right away from his rivals, yes he never left the rail but this was a strong win and he heads to Brissie now... KINGDA KA rattled home along the inside, has a future too! RICHAZ didn't need to leave rail, he tried very hard after leading. Race 3 and OAKLAND LAD had excatly the same task as short-priced runner-up MILONGA (raced inside him) and the win had merit, came right away late. SIR INTERDANE worked home very nicely from too far back (only winner had faster late sectional). Race 5 was on-pace dominated... they were 1-2-3-4 all the way as leader's walked up front. PRINCE OF TRUTH (sat 2nd), TZU HSI (4th 1-1), ABRUPTIONS (led) and STRATS FLYER (3rd fence) fought it out... very careful here! Race 6 saw SOMETHIN LEICAJEM leave the fence into straight and present the race to HADAAF who never left rail. STABLE TALK kept finding the line nicely (best late sectionals) and PELENNIUM, well, he ran well but never wins... In Race 7 the pace was on and the swoopers featured. ACCUMULATE was still 'hopeless' 100m out and flew home between runners to score. NEWPORT flashed along inside for 2nd and KOSI BAY (1st go wet) had every chance in 3rd. KIMBERLEY DANE led, set it up for the closers, ran well. In the last it was the uner-rated FLYING ALPHA ($12 ???). Burst through gap on inside to score 1st-up. STRONG CHOICE, from last, really found the line (best late splits) and AGUA CORRIENDO ran on well. RIGHTSON came widest and slowly ground home (best part of track?)... Suspect MUSTARD has won his last city race!?!? THE FORGIVE FILE: BOMBAY DIAMOND (3-4wide), DANASIERRA (wide, forward, no finish), MONTANA ROYALE (3 & 4wide, ran ok), ASHKABAR (too wet), EBONETTO (given no hope)... and you can forgive many more once this track pattern is proven (watch results from this meeting in next 14 days!) To today's racing... PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for MOONEE VALLEY are for DEAD track. Rail is out 5m. You could run-on here on Anzac Day tempo pending (a couple led all the way but two came from clear last!). Watch/ Monitor. In Sydney racing is back at ROSEHILL, ratings are for GOOD/DEAD track. Rail True. Suspect running on will not be an issue tempo pending after last week's traffic on heavy. BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Win Bet) MOONEE VALLEY - Race 5 No.2 - NEW KID IN TOWN - Good effort in Gp1 Sydney Cup going down narrowly in one of the best blanket finishes seen in ages. Scratched from 'Bool Cup on Thursday to run here and has run some ripper races at this track. Plummets in grade, not badly weighted... surely wins this!? BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Win Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 5 No.4 - ON THE UP - Carted 58kg last time and ran on well behind promising, subsequent winner Master O'Reilly giving him 3.5kg. He thrashed the third horse (Dentatus) who then came out and won before running 2nd to Cape Breton. In well at the weights. 3 of his 4 runs at 2400m very good and has form here. Good Luck ! Friday April 27th 2007 Well, Group 1 subsribers were given 15 of the 16 winners last week at Sandown and Hawkesbury in our 'Top-Rated Runners' sections... 9 Of those were our TOP PICK ! Other winner's included ALVERTA ($13), PHYSIQUE ($8) as well as a string of Quinella's/ Trifecta's and 3 x First-4's Get on now at just $29.95 per month (that's just $6.71 per week) as our strike-rate pushes an amazing 85% from Top-Rated runners... Compare anywhere! (and pay more Everywhere) Produced by www.ozracingform.com Email / Feedback gators@ozracingform.com SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at SANDOWN (Lakeside) last week was held on a Dead tk. It rained during the day so relative times won't carry their usual 'weight'... They were using all of the track as the day went on. RUN OF THE DAY: The very promising DRAC'S BACK came right away like a good horse and was only 2nd-up! Impressive indeed. Other good runs in Race 4: WORLD RULER flashed through from last, best late sectionals, nice work... and I know a few of you had a piece of that $40 quinella so nice work... this came up huge odds!?!?, KENDALAY was terrific after covering ground, have said it before, will say it again, if he was sound, he'd be a group horse. ANABAA KING PRAWN is one-paced but does try, TERRAIN over-raced today, kept coming well. In Race 1, PURREALIST made a very good debut bursting through between them to score, this half-brother to Racing To Win has inherited some of the family ability. Time was good. ROSARIA kept coming well after being out-sped early in the straight. QUEEN FALVELON led, kicked, grabbed 100m. PROTESTA ran on super, from last and had the fastest last 400m split of the day. Race 2 saw FLASH COUPE track the favourite every where and grab him on the line, in saying that, DANCE ON BOARD over-raced badly and wins if settles. VOLCANIC STAR weaved through to line and FRENCH KING, 3-wide at tail all the way, ran on super and really found the line (best late sectionals).. top effort! Race 3 and PINTAKA came from off midfield and was very strong to the line (fastest last 200m of the day - 11.42). JACQUELINE ROUGE was 3-wide early then found the lead, beat all-bar one... BIAN SEEN was very honest, PETITE GOLD came wide, no trail, and kept finding the line... (2nd-fastest last 200m) Good run! TILL TIME ran on well. ORANGE COUNTY was too good in Race 5. Settled 6th on his own, ran 2nd-fastest last 400m of the day, out to 1400m now for sure. BEL DANORO enjoyed the rain, skipped away, grabbed 100m. TONZ MORE FUN covered ground and kept coming well. BEXAAR ran on well (best last 200m), he also enjoys the rain. SATIN ROBES didn't finish off... Race 6 and DOURO VALLEY deserved this win, been running super Vs slow paces (and promising horses!) of late and he did come away late so won well. DOLPHIN JO came out 4-wide before the turn and ran on hard, he's ready, DON'T STOP and SARRERA battled on well... In the last, IMAGINING sprinted like a good horse, don't worry about the margin, she was eased-up late... she was dominant. CARAT CAKE covered ground, ran well. WAITUI ANGEL found the line well (equal fastest last 200m with Carat Cake). FEARLESS WATERS was ok, but starting to worry about her and her strike-rate... THE FORGIVE FILE: HIERARCH (wide no cover, kept coming), BLAZE ADRIFT (not enough room, kept closing), ACLAND (wide/ went forward midrace), FUJI FANTASY (wide trip), RUBIJACK (pressured/ ran ok), IN AN INSTANT (wide), PERUSEN (wide also), FORCE NINE (took off midrace) and FANFARES (put through fence on turn). In Sydney racing was at HAWKESBURY. Track was GOOD, gee they ran some slick times on the day! On-pacers weren't disadvantaged (short straight) as per usual here. RUN OF THE DAY: Close between GRAND CAUSE and MUSTAYIR... going with the latter (Mustayir) who blitzed his rivals in 1:34-Flast for 1600m... this half-brother to Alinghi can go on with it... In that same race (Race 4) TEST EDITION tracked into the race well, no match at all for winner but ran well, HESOID led, was taken on, ran well... Not much else to report here. In the last, GRAND CAUSE came wide, no trail a way out and came home hard, hit lead then fought off 1st-up specialist HE'S CANNY... the very honest LET ME ADAM was third... they ran a sizzling 1-8.54 (half-second outside track record). The pace was a cracker in Race 2 and KING REX joined in quickly when (finally) off heels at top of straight, plenty of merit in this win, been such a good horse. COOLROOM CANDIDATE, the mare with the big weight, ran well with every chance... there were some hard-luck stories but winner didn't have dream run... Time: 55.96... wow ! Again the early speed was hot in Race 3, they ran a sub-47 1st-800m and that suited a strong horse (one-paced horse) in COMMANDING VICTORY who really hit the line. Overall time: 1-21.90 very sharp. SPY ZAIM sat outside a hot speed, hit the lead, top on-pace effort! They were clearly the two top runs in the race... Race 5 was totally on-pace dominated: 1-2-3-4 all the way were NOVEMBER FLIGHT (sat 2nd), DOOJAH (led/ gallant), MARTINIFORUS (every chance) and AUNTY BETTY (ditto). Time: 1:15.30 for the 1300m The Rowley Mile, Race 6, was won by BEAUTY WATCH leading all the way, she ran a race record of 1:33.69 (.70 outside track record) SOILED and EL MEROO (racing very well) had their chances, liked the run of HIT THE ROAD who hit the line well fresh. ALVERTA won Race 7 getting up on the line, again, ran good time (1:22.03 for 1400m)... Juicy $12 was bet around the traps... FIVE WAY Sled and was gallant but must learn to settle! EIGHT MOONS was left in front a way out, ran well, SUPER SMUDGE was wide, no cover, came to centre and hit line hard.. terrific effort! THE FORGIVE FILE: OUR MOSSTIQUE (wide trip), BIG JOKER (no luck again, may have won!?!?), ON POTENTIAL (3 & 4-wide), FEARS (wide on speed), ANABATIK (amiss), COUNT MILANO (wide on hot speed), FLAMING (given no hope) and GOLD RROM (lost rider at the start, can't help can it ? Unless it's ____ (insert name here)) To today's selections... PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for CAULFIELD are for DEAD track, rain is forecast so watch track pattern closely as the day goes on.. Rail 7M. In Sydney racing is back at ROSEHILL, ratings are for SLOW Track, rail 6m, run-ons should get their chance pace-pending... BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Win Bet) CAULFIELD - Race 6 No.7 - CREPE DE CHINE - Far from disgraced in Gp1 Galaxy last start when inside was not the place to be. Gave a great sight prior in an Oakleigh Plate which has produced winner after winner. Love her at 1100m, this infinitely easier and she's in well with 55kg. Doubt she will be attacked in the lead here. Keen to back her today. BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Each-Way Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 5 No.7 - ESCUDERO - Was just 2L off Test Edition two-back (ran on well) then came back in distance to 1400m and hit the line super behind Toldyas & Let Me Adam (ran race 2) in what is shaping as a terrific form race, back up to 1500m, in with no weight after claim, go well. Good Luck ! Friday April 20th 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at MOONEE VALLEY last Saturday was on a GOOD track, Rail was True and the track played ok, in saying that, no horse won hard-up against the inside rail so be forgiving of those runners. RUN OF THE DAY: Thought ASSENT was impressive. Was ridden with cover (unlike previous run) and made an early move off a solid pace (left in front a way out) but kept running. Juicy odds too ($10). As stated the pace was on in Race 6 and, a few wound-up early, other good runs: FIRE IN THE NIGHT (popped out 6wide 700m out & kept coming), LAZER SHARP (came out 4wide bit soon, was in some traffic in the straight, ran well), SIR SKALAHAD (got left by Fire In The Night 600m, found line very well, fastest last 200m), SPEELBERG (out-sped, hit line in straight, 2nd-fastest last 200m). Overall time: 2:06.80 for the 2040m Race 1 saw some pressure about up front (23.78 1st-500m) and LOVE'S GREAT sat off them and finished too well. Runner-up GOLD CHANT was very good sitting outside the speed/pace and got clear before being nutted on the line. DEVIL MAY CARE was very green but has good ability and SPARKLING RED hit the line. Time: 59.52 was .74 slower than the 3yo's in race 2... Speaking of Race 2, they had a virtually identical early split (23.75) and ran 58.78. Winner TOP TIER was a tough winner (more genuine since gelded) but there were some unlucky runners behind: CHAIRMANOFTHEBOARD (3wide, no cover, 4wide before turn... very good) and AMBERINO (tried to come out, pushed in, waited for the run.... waited... got out & hit line well)... you can follow these two. Race 3 saw EVILWEB return to the winner's list, sat outside the speed and broke clear...it was a one of those "Grand Prix" races... thye ran around in their same spots all the way... MISS KOOCH (led, ran 2nd) IDRIA (3rd all way) and KIM REGRET (ridden closer, always finds the line this mare (fastest last 200m) stay with her in similar, or slightly easier grade). THIS IS ME hit the line in 'funny' race and probably ran well... OUR APACHE has a touch of polish and won well off modest tempo (had no luck previous two fresh runs, paid well also)...that 1st-600m of 36.30 gave on-pacers every chance. 2nd and 3rd were non-winners SENSATIONAL SWING and RA SUN, HACHIMAN kept coming well between. Overall time was 1:11.63 Race 7 saw the well-weighted ZINGARA (ridden with cover today) win nicely (travelled into race very well), can go on. Pace was honest early then, they steadied (63.20 1st-1000m). Liked the way NOTHING MATTERS found the line in straight (best late sectionals). ACRLACE saved ground inside then found the line ok and YOU BEAUTIFUL DOLL had good run to 600m then popped out 3wide. Also ran ok. Time: 1:38.87 was a full-second slower than Purple Chocolate in the last (around 6 Lengths) but the older/males did run along early... ...1st-1000m in race 8 was covered in 61.50. Overall time 1:37.88. Still dont think PURPLE CHOCOLATE won the race (no matter how many times I watch the replay). HILLSTON EXCHANGE got 2nd on protest after being heavily bumped late by CLAVILLO who was held-up rounding turn, but, got out in time for mine... DOLPHIN JO really hit the line, looks ready now (best late sectionals) and BUST UP battled on ok. BIANOMOUR led, ran along, and was pressured early, may have had enough for now? THE FORGIVE FILE: PRAYER (put out of race turning), ROCKPECKER (put through fence three times, showed ability!), PELIAS (4wide), MINIBAA (never got out) and ON THE BOARD (wide). In Sydney racing was at RANDWICK. Track was Dead (5) and rail 9M from 1600m-to-WP. They were off the inside as expected after four day carnival. RUN OF THE DAY: Suspect there are plenty of wins ahead for HOT DANISH, had to love the way she came right away at the finish... Impressive stuff! Was backed heavy! Time was good for Dead/Slow track too 1:37.16 Other good runs: KOSI BAY (found line closest to slower inside rail), MORE THAN LUCKY (slow out, ran on well) plus a few 'forgiveables'... BOBADAH won Race 1 and he is a lovely big horse, was onloy 2nd-up, has plenty of scope... STRONG CHOICE followed the winner all the way, ran well, no match... think wins wil e hard to come by for a few of the beaten brigade. Race 2 and STELLAMAC at cricket-score odds (well, Irish cricket team anyway) finished off well to nut ROSE OF SHAROn who had every chance (got dream split). SHAAN battled on well on-pace and MISS FANTABULOUS was slow out, recovered, and was running on when checked late... very honest filly! Tempo was strong (47.51 1st-800m) and overall time good (1:23.43 - Faster than Bentley Biscuit in race 8!) Race 4 saw CARNEGIE HOUSE run around at better than 20/1 (?) and, although he is one-paced, he kept going at that one-pace to well for his rivals. Looks like he will stay all day when he comes back as a 4yo. JUST MAMBO was gallant after working early...not much else here (fav made forgive file) Race 5 and MEURICE got his revenge, travelled into the race very sweetly and kept running! SOLO FLYER (new tactics, ridden forward) stuck to his task admirably and beat a darn good filly in CAMARILLA (she'll come back a gun 3yo you'd think... her mum was a star 3yo!). Watch GULLOTINE for the future too, loved him finding the line (is a half to Efficient). They ran 1:37.69 for the 1600m..nothing wrong with that this track. DESERT WAR led all way (was pressured early) and all honours to him. HARADSUN ran off the track but never looked like winning (spell time). Don't know where our depth is though! SPIRIT OF TARA (3rd) and COALESCE (worked early, stuck on for 5th)... Bring on the Spring and let's see these 3yos... (good crop I'd say!) The Sydney Cup (Race 7) and how good would GALLIC have been if sound!?!? Gutsy win, it was a real blanket finish to the Cup this year... 9 good runs in it (depth ??? form ???). BLUTIGEROO couldn't quite finish it off, end of prep or 3200m too far ??? Just not sure about most of these going foward....??? Race 8 saw BENTLEY BISCUIT hit the line full of running off solid speed (47.73 1st-800m) and run 1:24.07 (slowest of 3 x 1400m races). BLACK INK ran on hard between runners, watch for him in Qld, MALCOLM came to outside, ran terrific but no match for winner last 200m. TAKEOVER TARGET was 1st-up at 1400m, ran well/big ask. It looked a bolter's race the moment acceptances came out did the last... BRAVE LANCER won very well (wide, no cover, kept coming down centre). FOORAM ran on hard along inside rail, not best spot, good run and watch a horse called ZAVITE going forward, son of Zabeel, real scope to him... THE FORGIVE FILE: MISS PORTOFINO (checkered run, found line well), AT EASE (not right), SUNFLOWER STREET (wide), HOT N READY (amiss), MY LADY'S CHAMBER (margin unfair), GREY STREAM (always wide), STORM ALERT (ridden upside/down), TIPUNGWUTI (wide early, pressed on mid-race), BARLAGARNEY (back & very wide), MAGIC INSTICT (why go inside rail, may have been in finish!), SOUTHERN COURAGE (poor tactics), FAST N FAMOUS (wide, no cover) and MI CASA (injured). To today's racing... PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for SANDOWN (Lakeside) are for GOOD track. Rail is True. This track can play 'funny' but has looked ok of late. Always watch/monitor at "The Sandown's"... In Sydney racing goes to HAWKESBURY. Ratings are for GOOD track. Rail is True. The track played very well/fair at this meeting last year. BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne - Win Bet) SANDOWN (Lakeside) - Race 3 No.1 - DANCE ON BOARD - Liked him on the line 1st-up over unsuitable trip (was out-sped into straight, got going late) then came out 3-wide before the turn 2nd-up, hit the front a long way out in swooper's race and ran terrific. Peaks for this, in very well after the claim for gun apprentice. Go well. BET OF THE DAY (Sydney - Win Bet) HAWKESBURY - Race 7 No.2 - SOMETHING ANYTHING - Excellent run 1st-up when 4-wide no cover, pushed wider turning yet never stopped finding the line before finding the line super behind Danleigh & Reigning To Win (group 1 horses) 2nd-up. Peaks here in an easier race from ideal gate with less weight. Keen to back him! Good Luck ! Friday April 13th 2007 PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for MOONEE VALLEY are for GOOD track. Rail is True which usually means... you can run on! At RANDWICK ratings are for DEAD track, rail is 9m (1600m-to-WP) and surely, after three big days, run-on horses will feature!?!? BET OF THE DAY (Melb - Each-Way bet) MOONEE VALLEY - Race 3 No.4 - IDRIA - Caulfield run two-back had real merit (had 2nd-fastest last 400m there) in strong race run in sizzling time (Won by Laura's Charm in 1-21.53). Had her chance in Wang Cup but ran very well (beaten 1L) and drops back to mares grade today. Go well and should be each-way odds. BET OF THE DAY (Syd - Win Bet) RANDWICK - Race 4 No.9 - UPPER ECHELON - Looked the winner last start when peeled off Rena's Lady's back but didn't finish off on the bog track. Worth noting, the two fillies that beat her there, then ran 1-2 in the Oaks! Gets weight relief Vs boys, gets a drier track and surely her time to win is now!?!? No Summary so... as a bonus, our TOP-RATED runners for Sydney Cup: Race 7 - Gp1 Sydney Cup - 3200m 1. 6 - BLUTIGEROO - Has become a legitimate Gp1 horse. Australian Cup run was as good as any (held-up badly, flew at the line) then was so strong on the line in the BMW at WFA (he was coming away on the line). Looks like he will relish the 3200m 2. 5 - PRINCE ARTHUR - Was very surprised better than $4 was bet last start then even more surprised to see No Wine No Song in front of him at the end of the race!!! They thrashed third. Back on drier ground, out to a trip he looks like he will love and trained by JB Cummings. Can win! 3. 13 - SOUTHERN COURAGE - Another who will relish the trip. Came very wide turning and ran on ok behind No Wine No Song and Prince Arthur last start when 4th-up. Promising stayer on the way up... 4. 2 - GALLIC - Ran a track record in the Adelaide Cup. So talented this guy but had so many problems. Don't worry month between runs. Third in MV Cup to Melb Cup 4th-placed Zipping ties right in. 5. 1 - COUNTY TYRONE - Going as well as ever the old boy, hit the line nicely in the BMW on dry track. Won this last year (55.5kg) and will love the rain to stick around. Can win Dead/Slow, prefer place Good track. Good Luck Friday April 6th 2007 PLEASE NOTE: All ratings at CAULFIELD are for GOOD/DEAD track, rail is 4m. Horses/riders were off the inside rail after a few races here two weeks back with rail out 7m. Doubt run-ons will have any problems but watch/ monitor as always. In Sydney, for AJC Derby Day, racing is at RANDWICK and ratings are for DEAD track. Rail is True. They were off the inside here on 10th March with rail out 5m. There is protected ground inside but suspect off the rail, later in the day will be mo worries. BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne - Each-Way Bet) CAULFIELD - Race 5 No.9 - WATCHES - Was a real eye-catcher 1st-up when settled back (first four out in race ran 1-2-3-4) and she came wide, with no trail in, yet hit the line super! Looked a moral 2nd-up in midweek grade but just worked too hard (wide) early and was nutted late. Peaks here 3rd-up, 1800m ideal and drawn perfectly. BET OF THE DAY (Sydney - Win Bet) RANDWICK - Race 4 No.4 - PRINCE ARTHUR - Ran well two-back when just wins if gets out. Was not tested there which, in my humble opinion, cost him a win at 2400m 2nd-up when just not fit enough. That tops him off. Only other run this distance range he was held-up, then totally dominant, winning by nearly 5L. To produce that speed at the end of 2400m is rare! Go well ! BONUS - Due to no Summary: TOP-RATED RUNNERS: AJC DERBY 2007 1. 13 - MISS FINLAND - Just bullet-proof. Mixes real class with a real determination to win! Looked in trouble 300m out last week then surged away indicating she now wants this trip. Previous win over Haradasun (he followed her all the way) was typically gutsy (and it's great form). Won Oaks easily only other run this distance range. Gate 3! 2. 14 - TUESDAY JOY - Coolmore win outstanding running home faster than Divine Madonna (no-one does that!) then ridden upside/down last week up second facing the breeze. Beasley keeps the ride but from gate 13, hoping they sit back and rattle home (forget opposition, give yourself every chance to win!!!) in a race that will have genuine speed and wants every bit of the 2400m. Wet no worries. Don't sack! 3. 4 - AMBITIOUS GENERAL - Has looked a derby horse all prep continually rattling home over shorter trips and, in fact, has been the horse rattling home his last 100m in every race he's been in all prep! Out to the 2000m last start, came 5-wide turning (lost a length) then charged at the line (best sectionals) and, on that, wants 2400m and can win! 4. 2 - GORKY PARK - Was 1L off Ambitious General in Rosehill Guineas when sat on the pace, took over mid-race and fought hard all the way. Wide and gallant prior! So honest, placed in VRC Derby and top effort last week in Gp1 BMW at WFA to run third. E/way live chance. 5. 12 - FIANCHETTO - Gave him a good chance at odds in the Rosehill Guineas but he was poleaxed when asked to improve at the 550m mark before picking himself up and running home. Wants the trip. Goes in my multi's at big odds. 6. 11 - SIR JAMES - Stablemate (Cummings) of Fianchetto and his Rosehill Guineas run was gutsy/good as he was 3-wide, no cover all the way, then 4-wide turn and just 3L off He's No Pie Eater on the line. Another good roughie. Good luck Friday March 30th 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at CAULFIELD last week was on a Slow track which was up graded to Dead. Jockeys were avoiding the inside rail as the day went on, as always, the first time we see a wet track in a while, we get some 'upsets'... RUN OF THE DAY: STANZOUT was probably the most impressive winner, sitting outside the speed and breaking away to win well. CANDY MAN and BOWHUNTER chased well (and had been in very good form in good races) but were safely held. His gallop of 1:10.10 on affected ground (fastest of the 4 x 120m races) was a good one! In Race 1 PRINCESS ZANZIBAR sat outside a modest speed and gave a nice kick turning, time was clearly slowest of the 4 x 1200m races (1-12.19) but they were 2yo's and the track dried out as the day went on. TESKARA kept closing to the line from well back and had the equal fastest final 200m split with RAEBURN off thta slow-ish tempo. Not sure about there 2yo's though? The pace was on early in Race 2, a 33.99 1st-600m means this field would have led Stanzout by aroudn 6Lengths with 600m to run. It was set-up for a big-finisher and MY ONLY HOPE has a real touch of quality about her and stormed home to win. Paid very well too. PANTENNY had her chance but found the line well between runners, MISTAKE CREEK led at a solid clip, broke 2L clear in straight and her effort was good as was TILL TIME running on nicely. They ran 1:10.43 Race 4 saw BIANOMOUR (now three from three wet) slipped away turning and won well over ZIPPING who (as always) gave his all with the big weight. DOURO VALLEY (best sectionals home, only 2nd-up) found the line well as did MR BIGALOW (equal 2nd-fastest last 200m with Zipping). SPIELMEISTER has been a real disappointment this prep! Race 5 (again over 1200m, this one for 3yo's) saw LET'S MIGRATE sit deep on the speed and kick strongly when challenged 100m out, it was obvious at this point the fence was 'off'. SIRMIONE ran on hard down the outside and loomed to win, had fastest late splits and will be fitter. MONDANO sat very wide and ran well. HUBCAT crossed and led from outside gate and gave a nice kick into straight 1st-up, there was merit in his run and he'll be fitter. OKAY OKY found the line nice (maybe too close inside?). Time: 1:10.27 is good time. MIND YOUR HEAD won race 6 depsite racing a little keen outside the speed, still learning but has plenty of talent! Tempo was quite strong (47.7 1st-800m) and his win was strong! JAYEMZED had good run but layed to inside rail in straight (not best spot) so he did well to hold second from AMERRYKING who found the line well (fastest last 200m). STICKPIN raced too close to inside rail also and kept closing 2nd-up (2nd-fastest late split). In the last the forever luckless MISS LA TAR unleashed a big-finish (she can do that!) to score but thought the best run in the race was from the heavily backed HI ON LOVE who was slow out, wide, and over-raced a little but zoomed home late down the outside. Follow her... THE FORGIVE FILE: WHATEVER JACK (wide), MISS EVERGREEN (wide), JACQUELINE ROUGE (poleaxed when making ground), CORTON CHARLEMAGNE (4-deep no cover), GAME SERENA (never got out), ZIPANESE (sat deep), SNORT (slow out, raced inside rail), JUNGLE RULER (inside rail), SHADOWAYS (set impossible task), TEMPLE HILLS (knee locked/ injured) and VAINSKY (blew start/ prefers dry). In Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL on a GOOD Track, rail 2m, track played beautifully. RUN OF THE DAY: CAMARILLA, drew out, came from a mile back, rattled home to just miss... she will be reserved for Sires and be very hard to beat you'd think! Winner of race 5 was DOWNHILL RACER who got out to juicy odds, she was under pressure before the turn and responded very well, lots of ability this one, can she win a slipper running 3-weeks straight and looking like she wants 1400m? Time will tell, the pluses are a master trainer and unlimited upside... GAMBLE ME was best of the on-pacers here... not much to report beyond those three for mine... Time was 1:10.75 (.25 slower than colts of vitually identical 1st-600m split) Race 4 was for the colts. They ran 1:10.50 and DEFERRENTIAL impressed the way he shouldered clear (still a baby remember) and came right away... CECCONI rattled home out wide (sectionals werent far off those of Camarilla) and ACEY DUCEY dead-heated with him after having a good trail into the race. GUILLOTINE closed well down the centre but Cecconi did go stright past him). BIt of a pity to see AL BE NIMBLE nutted at very juicy odds in race 3 by SLOW WALTZ who never left the fence as runner-up did cop a check mid-race, JAZZELLA led, left the rail, and fought on well, there is a race in her on the mainland and ALVERTA, form last, copped slight check, hit line super (best late sectionals). HOT N READY was terrifric here too, flew late off interrupted run. Time: 1:10.59 off .6 slower 1st-600m than both 2yo races which shows the quality of the babies this year! Think they are a very good bunch!!! Race 6 and HE'S NO PIE EATER did a good job, broke clear turning and held off the big-finishers. Has to get the 2400m of the derby is the only tiny query but this win good. Leaders chopped and changed a bit and eventhough it was a 50.39 1st-800m there was some pressure. Had to like AMBITIOUS GENERAL hitting the line as he lost a length when forced wide turning. FIUMICINO had sectionals home inferior to only Ambitious General with every chance, hit line well. GORKY PARK is super-honest, REDOUTE'S DANCER wants 2400m... Race 7 and another bolter is nutted, DANLEIGH looked home sitting on pace and breaking clear, HIGH CEE (who ran off track a little) got the narrow photo and these two very talented gallopers easily beat third, THE FREE STATER, who had been in sensational form, they ran 1:29.73 and his form will be good. RED ROBERT hit the line nicely (best late sectionals) and BRAVE LANCER did enough... SAFWA blitzed a good field of fillies & mares in Race 8, she had 3-wide cover off midfield and exploded when asked, she actually went too quick too soon for Glen Boss who then tried to hold her up again for 50m to avoid getting there too eraly, in the end, it mattered not, she brained them! GREY STREAM (ridden back!?!?) found the line well but was no match at all. Liked the run of ROSA'S SPUR who overcome checkered run and hit the line nice.... there were some sob story's here though... In the last AUNTY BETTY was ridden a treat to score from ABSOLUTELYFABULOUS who, arguably, was a touch unlucky. MARTINIFORUS hit the line well again off her terrific 1st-up run, she's come back well and now comes out of the bad books after indifferent Spring. FIRE SONG is a fraud, JACK'S GIRL is not (very genuine/ found line well) and STORM SIGNAL did enough. Time for the 1200m was 1:11.09 off a 36.12 1st-600m. THE FORGIVE FILE: COMMANDING VICTORY (slow out, hit line nice!), PRINCE ARTHUR (bet he will be fitter for this, was 2nd-up at 2400m off 2000m run when never fully tested), EIGHT MOONS (too wide), SOMETHING ANYTHING (4-5 wide, ran well), ROYAL ESPRIT (looked place hope when poleaxed), KOICHI (pulled-up distressed), SIR JAMES (wide/ good), FIANCHETTO (checked when making ground), DANEVER (distressed), FLASH TRICK (always wide), UPPER ECHELON (severe check), RAHEIGHTS (poleaxed when making a run), GAWNE (poor recovery), DELORAINE (never out) and FIDEMUS (given no hope wide, pushed forward mid-race). To today's selections... PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for MOONEE VALLEY are for DEAD track. Rail is out 2M. Track certainly favoured those off the rail here at the last meeting. There is some protected ground inside but still think, with the rain, run-ons will get their chance. Watch/ Monitor. In Sydney, racing is at ROSEHILL, ratings are for GOOD track, rail is out 4m and cannot see the run-ons being disadvantaged at all. BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne - Win Bet) MOONEE VALLEY - Race 8 No.12 - HI ON LOVE - Was one of the runs of the day last week when backed heavy but blew the start, then over-raced a little, then carted wide, then eased to tail, then came very wide, then zoomed her last 200m. That was only 2nd-up, like her out to 1600m and competitive with some very good gallopers in Perth in her career! Looks to be still learning and will keep going up but do want to be on her today! (can they run on?) BET OF THE DAY (Sydney - Win Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 9 No.2 - SWICK - Kept closing hard in hottest of sprints 1st-up in a Newmarket containing Miss Andretti/ Gold Edition and Co. run in track record time. Has 2nd-fastest sectionals there. 2nd-up last prep he showed a brilliant turn of foot to win the Sandown Stakes breaking that track record running on Vs pattern of the day. 2nd-up previous prep he was 3L off Racing To Win in a Doncaster Hcp! Lack of hot pace only tiny query but keen to back him and run-ons will have no worries by now. Good Luck ! Friday March 23rd 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: SANDOWN (Hillside) was typically tough to read, just when you thought they were all off the inside and swooping home, the last two winners led and railed all the way, one of them at $52 K.O-ing mere mortals like me... Was Dead track, rail 4m. RUN OF THE DAY: Going with the promising COLLODI who sat back off a walking pace (63.79 1st-1000m) and rattled home for second to JUSTE MOMENTE (led all way), she was home her last 200m in 11.50 (fastest of the day) and can go on to better things... In Race 1, the well-related RIO OSA on debut for Hawkes saluted at the juicy odds of $14 nutting favourite DOWNHILL RACER by a sht 1/2 head, fancy the runner-up just needed another 10 metres to fight back and win. TIS FOLLY ridden back ran home well, looked live chance at the 200m. They ran 58.28 for the 1000m the 2yo's. FOREST KNIGHT fully deserved his win in race 3, such a great trier. The two backed to beat him settled a mile back, IRAZU held her ground back there and SOUTHERN COURAGE came hoem terrific Vs slow pace, follow. DESERT MASTER led, had every chance, but will be fitter for that. NEW KID IN TOWN's sectionals were ok (3rd-fastest home behind Southern Courage and Forest Knight). Race 6 saw APACHE CAT prove too good, over-raced a little early with the slow pace but was strong late. BON HOFFA had every chance but did manage to beat home some Group 1 perfomed gallopers, still on the up. Very exciting horse. MOLOTOV worked home nicely Vs tempo, that's the Illustration form and SPINNEY was typically honest. Never been a Red Dazzler fan and that didnt change after this race... Time: 1:37.37 Race 7 and LET GO THOMMO was simply too good also, got the split and burst through. SATIN ROBES followed him all the way through (held-up touch, didnt affect the result) and had the best closing sectionals of the race. CHIACK produced a lovely 1st-up effort, actually loomed a bit at the 300m. APPLE LODE ran on super after finding trouble turning and both PARIS ZERO and SIPOWICZ were more than satisfactory. ISANAMI hit the line nice, late (equal fastest last 200m with Satin Robes in fact). Time: 57.49 on the dead track. Race 7 was on-pace dominated. The bolter JUNGLE RULER led all the wya, DOMSZERO, CINQUE and TRULLI all looked every chance to run him down... MI CASA SU CASA was plain disappointing. In the last, the spruikers were in full cry after MALDIVIAN led all the way, has shown tremendous ability from day 1 this son of Zabeel and fancy the penny is starting to drop with him. These exciting Zabeel's that just get out and run hey.... ahhh memories. Runner-up CAPTIOUS had every chance (had been competitive with Molotov and Illustration drawing an interesting line for the winner here) and BIANOMOUR was honest. MERLOT NOW was good but dont fall into him, he is a fraud. THE FORGIVE FILE: IBSEN (backed/ played up prior/ forget), MONICABLINCO (wide), ASTRODAME (poor recovery), LUCKY UNICORN (wide/ forward mid-race), AT THE OASIS (needs bone dry) and WHAT'S THE MAIL (very wide). In Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL on a GOOD track, downgraded to Dead, then Slow by the final race. Horses and riders were off the inside almost immediately. Take no notice of relative times...obviously! RUN OF THE DAY: SLEEK CHASSIS, the Blue Diamond winner, was as good as anything on the day, wide, working all the way. The $64,000 question is, can she peak again Golden Slipper Day? Hayes did it last year with Miss Finland... Our track spies in Sydney Monday morining tell us she was "bucking like crazy" on the track indicating she has taken no harm... Other good runs: PRESS THE BUTTON, cannot knock the win, just because he had a good run.. horse has to be good enough, and she was, and will be better for it! HURRIED CHOICE (out of nowhere, thought she was just a horse) came home with best late sectionals, slightly better than those of FORENSICS who also worked home very well (further???). SASHENKA was a nice run for 1400m, MIMI LEBROCK will go to the paddock i am told. (time: 1-10.50 - track still good) CROSSWISE showed real tenacity to nut MYSTERY PRIZE in the first, MR UBIQUUITOUS ran on, as alwyas, he just never wins is all... Race 2 and class shone with MALCOM. HEavily backed, too good here! CHEEKY CHOICE (3yo) and KOSI BAY (1st-up) ran well and they spaced the fourth horse. This form will be ok. COALESCE was given a Beadman special in Race 3, back on the dry, too good for PRINCE OF MIDNIGHT at big odds, gee he can get home on his day. Best late sectionals here. GRAND ZULU did a great job and will be fitter. CALIDAN is not the real deal. AUSBRED KING led, was pressured, ran ok here for touch easier. Race 5 and DESERT WAR was too tough for CONFECTIONER (big shock!)... RAILINGS ran on well and kept coming all the way to the line. Just a race! Race 6, the 2yo slipper lead-up for the boys was won by MEURICE who had to dig deep. Like the way he travelled sweetly into the race. Possibly more improvement there too. ZIZOU led and fought hard when challenged and SHAFT, also fought hard to go down in 3-way go... WARHEAD didnt ping but got going nicely late, gear change? 1400m? ARLINGTON might make a nice 3yo stayer... The Coolmore was race 7 and the filly, TUESDAY JOY stormed home to score impressively, if she isnt the real deal then Ben Cousins prefers pepsi over coke. Has to get past Miss Finland and her next start though, she couldnt do it the oaks... DOUBTING flew home out under the arches, DIVINE MADONNA ran enormous closest to inside of the place-getters and was ridden closer than normal and SHIRL PEGASUS ran on very well, was next to winner at the 500m, winner went outside, Shirl inside... Hmmm CINQUE CENTO was well-ridden, just a length or so off these A-graders for mine. Always a great race!!! Race 8 and POSADAS ran down CENTURY SERB late who did look the winner. NEW EDGE looked a chance between them 200m but peaked on run, fitter now. MUSTARD is amazing, ran home terrific (fastest last 200m) and IMANA did enough without threatening the first few. GOLD ROOM was backed, not good enough! Race 9 and a slow track put paid to a few (and my quaddie) but JUST MAMBO's eyes lit up... he can swim this one. RAHEEB looked the winner 200m out, just missed, nicely bred, may go on!? AMORY LANE (home nice), VIEWED (home very nice) and RED LORD (best late sectionals) were all noteworthy. THE FORGIVE FILE: NEWTONS RINGS (always wide), BREZINA (always wide), ILLUMINATES (doesnt run past 1000m), SOULACROIX (thumps), REGAL CHEER (wide/ forward before turn), PEKALAN (blew start), BALAGARNEY (slow out/ widest/ ran ok), DAEDALUS (too wet, out of a Marauding mare) and BUZZY HENRY (too wet). To today's selections... PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for CAULFIELD are for GOOD/DEAD track. Rail is out 10m. Rain is forecast. The last time rain came mid-meeting the run-on horses struggled but feeling is, if this track comes up rain-affected they will be off the inside and running on... Must watch/monitor! In Sydney, racing is at ROSEHILL, ratings are for GOOD track, rail is 2m and run-ons will have their chance pace-pending... BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Each-Way Bet) CAULFIELD - Race 6 No.4 - TESBURY JACK - Just about the best run in the race in the Newmarket Hcp (with 1st two) after missing the start (dipped) and was a mile back under heavy pressure turning yet flew home running the fastest sectionals of the race. Was wide and working in Oakleigh Plate & stuck on terrific. 1st go 1400m but expect it will suit. $7 in some early markets... Keen! BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Win Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 8 No.4 - UPPER ECHELON - Excellent run two-back rattling home from last Vs Gold Edition/ Mutawaajid running fastest sectionals of the day Vs slow pace in on-pace dominated race. Went to 1600m 3rd-up but settled last and was held-up before the turn before cutting back inside (slowest part of track) yet still running home very well. Back to own sex here, up in distance and very happy Beadman is back on! Wide gate but pace on here. Keen! Good Luck ! Friday March 16th 2007 *** GROUP 1 SUBSCRIBERS last week found ALL 9 Winners at Caulfield in our Top- Rated runners section... Quaddie didn't pay a fortune but it was sure better than NOT getting it... Our Full, group 1 service is just $6.71 per week ($29.95 per month) SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK SUPER SATURDAY at CAULFIELD lived up to it's name. What a fantastic days' racing. The track played very well with run-ons having their chance tempo pending. RUN OF THE DAY: Tough one. Going away from the 'obvious' in the Group 1 winner's and looking at TESBURY JACK as a future winner. Dipped at the start losing all hope, was back co-last under-pressure turning yet motored to the line running sizzling sectionals. On him next start in anything! The form out of the Gp1 Newmarket will hold up you'd think. Crack field, fast-run race and a new track record! How many is that now for MISS ANDRETTI, great win, gave her rivals weight and beat 'em again. GOLD EDITION was excellent off that, umm, unorthadox preparation. UNDUE and MAGNUS were super-honest and SWICK powered home. What a race. 1-7.74 they ran! The Australian Cup was won brilliantly by POMPEII RULER. Sincerely doubt we have seen the best of him yet, still looks to almost 'pull-up' when he finds the front!? Still learning I fancy. Love the fact he sprints quick then digs in for the fight. MARASCO was outstanding. Lost his spot at 800m, last and hard-ridden before turn he flew at the line. TAWQEET ran up inside then his luck ran out, was held-up, only Marasco had better sectionals home. BLUTIGEROO was also well-back and held-up into straight before getting off heels and finding the line super at WFA. Time: 2-01.53 The other Group 1 was the guineas and the super-filly MISS FINLAND. Has amazing courage to go with her class. Outstanding Vs the boys. CASINO PRINCE was out-sprinted a touch into the straight but loved his last 100m. Onto 2000m him. JOKERS WILD fought all the way and both HARADASUN (great ride, tagged Miss Finland everywhere, just not good enough, still ran an excellent race) and EFFICIENT (on back of Haradasun, kept coming strongly to line, don't worry, he is outstanding also). Great batch of 3yo's for mine. They are already proving themselves at Open WFA (Hi to Mentality too). 1st-800m was a sluggish 50.25 and overall time was 1:36.09. To race 1 and ROSE CEREMONY was strong when challenged, she dipped at the start too so plenty of merit in the run. Runner-up also excellent, came wide before turn with no trail in, joined-in and they beat 3rd comfortably. Time was 1:10.10 which is a good gallop off a 36.52 1st-600m. ROYAL FIRST was good on the line late for further and touch easier. Had equal last 200m split with Chinamora. Race 2 and TANGO AMIGO'S was too good over the 1100m 1st-up. They didn't go hard but she was strong. Overall time 1-3.57. MONDANO, last then widest, was solid. GOLDFIELD ASHES wants further. Pace/pressure was on up front in the Sires Stks. A 47.20 1st-800m suited the run-ons. Big effort from the winner who was only 2nd-up, out to 1400m off 7-day back-up. Good effort! MARCHING was unlucky, lost 1-2L coming to turn. May well have tested the winner. BELOW ZERO battled on well and CECCONI didn't have the best of luck, but doubt would have won. Time: a slick 1-22.85 for the babies. The girls flew in race 4. A 46.71 1st-800m from FIDEMUS (held on super) set-up fast overall time (1-21.53 - wow) and LAURA'S CHARM sat on hot speed and was strong. She has run just 1 poor race in the last 12 months. Great stuff! BROCKMAN'S LASS flew home (best secs) and wants 1600m, BODACIOUS HARMONY looks a real good bet in something a shade easier. Race 5 saw ANAMATO (so strong her last 100m) roll the stablemate CATECHUCHU (nice turn of foot 300m) and they spaced the rest. FLAME OF SYDNEY, in fairness, should have finished closer after being held-up and O'MARIE (again) found the line nicely. They ran 1-full second faster then the other 3yo race (The guineas) or, around 6 Lengths, and ran faster overall time (1:35.21) THE FORGIVE FILE: ASTRAL DANZA (shin sore), CORTON CHARLEMAGNE (never clear/ hit line late), I GOT CHILLS (injured), DELORAINE (wide trip), DANCE HERO (Vetted: had The Thumps), CAPE NORTH (Injured), POLAR BEAR (given no hope), CAN LAGO (wide again!) and LIFE'S A BOUNTY (lame). In Sydney, racing was at RANDWICK. Track was GOOD, rail 5m and they were off the inside pretty damn quick! RUN OF THE DAY: I think the fact MURTAJILL was able to run .51 faster then the fillies for the 1200m trip despite a slower 1st-600m and .31 faster than the older mares (Kakakakatie) and .30 faster than the welter (Theseo) speaks volumes. Now there is a cloud over Danehill Smile (see ya doubles!) he looks top pick. Still some water to go yet though. Other good runs in Race 4: PISTOLS (wide with trail, ran home well), SOLO FLYER (home nice for 1400m) and MY SWEET COOKIE (ditto, good on line!). They ran 1-9.63 off a 34.34 1st-600m. In Race 2 they flew along. 33.50 1st-600m is low-flying! The swooper's prevailed (of course) and they were: The under-rated ABSOLUTELYFABULOUS, the unlucky HOT N READY (ran into traffic straight, top effort) and EIGHT MOONS. Thought WESTICARO was enormous on-pace! Overall gallop was 1-3-flat. nice!!! Race 5 saw a big finish from KAKAKAKATIE. Leaders didn't fly (35.08 1st-600m) so her effort was very good. AUNTY BETTY sat 4th, faced breeze all the way and was terrific and STORM ALERT ran home super for new stable (best late sectionals). MARTINIFORUS, wide no cover, still hit line was also very good. Time: 1-9.94 The fillies flew along in race 6. 33.92 1st-600m for the babies set-up 1:10.14 overall (still slower than Colts as mentioned). Winner CHINCHILLA ROSE finished very well off hot speed, was well-ridden, measured up beautifully. VECCHIA ROMA was never really covered and ran extra well. MOONBOAT sat outside the hot speed. Rolled in a bit (too close inside?) and was terrific on pace. I HAVE NO FEAR and NEDIYMS GLOW were both home very well. MENTALITY, heavily backed, back to 3yo company, excellent win. Stretched out beautifully late. I must admit, when I saw him miss the kick and have to be scrubbed up, I was sure he would over-race.. He is learning!!!! Others: TERANABA (had good run/ ran very well), SNIPERS BULLET (Very good again, spelling now), JUST DANCING (still last 250m, very strong late, nice!), MUTAWAAJID (didn't get soft lead today, 47.94 1st-800m, and wasn't as effective) and UPPER ECHELON (last and held-up turning, went inside, worst ground and ran a great race). Time: 1:35.79 SPARK OF LIFE was back to his brilliant best in Race 8. Led all way, won easy and ran 56.89. WHOEVER hit the line very well. BISCAYNE BAY is very talented but he still has some issues! MEDIA had best late sectionals but.. It's Media!?!? In the last BANC DE FORTUNE stepped up in grade and produced a big finish. Was back near tail and 'going backwards' to turn. Hawkes trains, on the up! GAWNE went forward and fought very hard all the way home. She's come back better than ever. Always knew she was loaded with ability. VIVA CARO was 'ride' of the day and SAFWA ran well 2nd-up, just couldn't match winner's run home. ROSA'S SPUR (weaved through, top run!) and RAHEIGHTS (kept coming well in worst ground) were both noteworthy. Overall time: 1:36.63 off 48.34 1st-800m. THE FORGIVE FILE: MAGIC INSTINCT (poor recovery - ridden upside/down), PRINCE ARTHUR (still not out!), COURT COMMAND (poor recovery rate), AL BE NIMBLE (went way too hard), ALUDER (injured), MIDAS STAR (too close inside), MAGICALLY (poor recovery rate), MISS WATAGAN (poor recovery), DE JETCAT (stayed inside rail?), DANLEIGH (wide), BRYANNBO'S GIFT (poor recovery), GREY STREAM (must lead!!!), TIN PAN (injured back) and HIPPONA (very wide). To today's selections... PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for SANDOWN (Hillside) are for GOOD track. Rail is out 4m. Suspect they will be off the inside rail (they usually are here no matter where the rail is!). Watch/monitor vital at this track (as much as any track in Oz!) In Sydney racing is at ROSEHILL. Ratings are for GOOD track with a True rail. Doubt run-ons will have any issues tempo pending of course. BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Win Bet) SANDOWN Hillside - Race 1 No.7 - DOWNHILL RACER - Won on debut like a good horse running down Xaardante (who had crossed the line with some very handy 2yo's in Sydney Goldam & Lieserl) they thrashed third horse Afterwards who had been competitive with Rose Ceremony/ Sleek Chassis. Unlimited upside. BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Each-Way Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 9 No.5 - DAEDALUS - Will make a damn good horse this! Backed heavy two runs back but greenness cost him. Strong win 2nd-up beating stablemate Discorsi who was far from disgraced behind Mentality in Group 1 last Sat. Looks the type improving (sharply) with every run. Gate 13 no spoil but extra trip a plus and pattern may suit!? Good luck! Friday March 9th 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK Racing at CAULFIELD was on a GOOD track. Rail 3m. Funny day. It seemed early on everything was fine as far as track patterns go, then we had some rain, and horse's generally struggled to make ground. weird! Just careful with the form here/ late. RUN OF THE DAY: All honours to the winner of Race 3, DYNA MYTA who was 2L last, came to outside with no trail in and got the bob. Ran good time (1:10.54) even though it was the slowest of the 4 x 1200m races on the day. She is just so honest. Runner-up EVILWEB was very well ridden, just missed. OUR BELLA ROSSA peeled 3-wide at the point of the turn and wore down NAPA SKY but couldn't hold off the big-finishers. IDRIA's run was terrific, held-up into straight and really found line when clear, wants further! To race 1 and SNORT swept down the centre to score, I thought he was just a wet-tracker but this win was good. Tempo was solid (35.15 1st-600m) and overall time of 1:10.21 is a good gallop. TRULLI ran well at big odds on-pace, still on the up, like the way she broke clear when asked. FEEDBACK should have finished a touch closer and OKAY OKY ran on well 1st-up after getting back to last. GIBRALTAR CAMPION sat outside a very modest 36.54 1st-600m (some 8Lengths slower 1st-600m than other 2yo race, Inglis Classic) but had to like the way he lengthened when asked and found 3L or so. PATASI (best secs home) got the split and came out after him hard, just missed, good run! They got away from SIMPLEST who ran on well off slow pace and DOWNUNDER BOY hit the line ok late after being out-sprinted coming to turn. 1400m + touch easier = big bet! Time: 1:11.37 but don't take much notice of that off this tempo. Race 4 and AMBITIOUS GENERAL came from well back, saved the ground inside and really launched late after DANEVER who looked home. He had sat on an even tempo 48.26 1st-800m (1800m race) isn't a walk, but isn't quick. Some argued he went a touch soon. well, if he did, it was 10m too soon only! Probably more noteworthy was he was 2nd-up and just got tired late. FURIO had good trail in and ran on super and PACINO, ridden back, worked home satisfactorily (3rd-fastest last 400/200m). Overall time: 1:48.95 Race 5 was the Inglis (2yo/ 1200m) and they flew along in this. As stated earlier, there 34.12 1st-600m means leader BRAZEN HUSSEY would have been around 8L clear of Giraltar Campion after 600m (he ran a 32.77 sectional from 1000m-to-600m, wow!). INCUMBENT sat wide with trail and kept coming to the line, had trialled super, top training perfomance 1st-up at 1200m. TRESOR got the runs through along inside and just missed. Winner covered more ground and deserved his win. SHREWD RHYTHM, one week off a Blue Diamond run was gallant and POTOMAC, from last & mile back, flew home. top effort. BELCENTRA followed the winner but was no match, rolled around when tired, still learning. Time: 1:10.16 was slick for the babies! Race 6 saw on-pacers dominate. No surprise really off a 50.39 1st-800m. AQUA D'AMORE (finally jumped!) led and kept going strongly, SEASCHANGE sat 2nd and had her chance. What of EL SEGUNDO ? His sectionals were sound but just didn't have that ping of his 1s-up/ 2nd-up runs. Maybe he simply wants further now? Don't sack! LAD OF THE MANOR found the line better than anything (fastest last 400/200m) and was only 2nd-up. He is still in the Aust Cup. MAYBE ETTER and ANAMATO did enough, sound sectionals Vs slo-o-ow pace. Time: 1:35.71, nothing wrong with that gallop off this pace. Race 7 saw SOULACROIX prove simply too good! Was under the whip turning but once he got warmed up he came right away. Wants further now (aiming Sydney Cup). Liked the win. FOREST KNIGHT came wide with trail, ran on super but no match winner. GALLIC peeled out 700m from home, couldn't go with a few but was strong on the line. They ran 2:01.81 off a 1:15.11 1st-1200m. Classy mare CINQUE CENTO won race 8 sitting up on the pace (?) ran very fast time (1-8.95) despite an only fair 35.37 1st-600m. Expect this form to be strong! STICKPIN sat off midfield, saved ground inside and came home hard, actually recorded the fastest last 400m sectional of the day (22.06). LET GO THOMO and PERSOANL ENSIGN had their chance(s) but ran well in hot race. MIND YOUR HEAD and BOWHUNTER were good on the line for 1400m and my old mate, CAN LAGO, typically honest, had the fastest last 200m split of the race. Just wants bit easier. In the last, tempo was modest (48.37 1st-800m) for the F&M at 1400m and the first four were in those positions all the way around. ALL THE GOSS, backed heavy (tote $11 to $5 - on course $7 to $5) sat on pace, broke clear and held on. LYKANNA tried very hard. KATMAI and the leader MISTAKE CREEK had their chance. FLAME OF SYDNEY was excellent running on with her 59kg with plenty against and a horse called WATCHES was one of the runs of the day, sat wide (had cover at times) went forward, no trail, turning and was very good on the line Vs tempo/pattern of race. Only Lykanna had faster last 200m. Hmmm!!! THE FORGIVE FILE: GOWITHTHEHEART (wide), MCFLY (no luck vital stage), BAMMAGERA (covered ground), GORKY PARK (wide from 800m, gallant as always!), IRAZU (held-up turn, nice work when clear), AT THE OASIS (needs bone dry, rain no help to him), BELMONTE (3 & 4 wide), FLIGHT PLUME (injured), MY ONLY HOPE (poor recovery) and IMPOSING WAY (bled). In Sydney racing was at WARWICK FARM on a Slow track, quickly upgraded to a Dead 5. Rail was True but they were 3 or 4 horses off that inside rail, well, anything in the finish was. Some jocks ignored this and put their horses there. Forgive those! RUN OF THE DAY: THE FREE STATER was able to real off some amazing sectionals on a wet track. His 22.58/ 11.40 last 400/200m were the quickest of the day and he was only 2nd-up and it's not as if the leaders walked. (35.30 1st-600m). Impressive!!! Overall time in Race 7 was 1:10.25 (slick/ wet track) and there were some top runs: REGAL CHEER (good/ every chance), CENTURY SERB (had company on pace, slipped away, grabbed 100m), DIVINE MADONNA (excellent as always, but, she better get on her "right" leg quick-smart if she is to win a Doncaster) and MR UBIQUITOUS (slight check into straight, very nice on the line). Oh, MALCOM did enough 1st-up (4th-fastest last 400m). Race 4 and the big upset. The under-rated HE'S NO PIE EATER got the gun run, saved the ground and blew away the older WFA horses. It proves one thing, whoever gets the run on the day can win at the top level, in both states, as they are a very even bunch. DESERT WAR led and toughed it out as always. Pretty modest 50.75 1st-800m so no excuses. MENTALITY will be a top horse when he learns to settle. EREMEIN covered ground 2nd-up, came wide again 600m and just peaked on run. Fitter now! They ran 1:37.68 for the 1600m. Race 5 and were there some impressive 2yo's in this. Predominantly: FORENSICS (has the turn of foot of a good horse) and WARHEAD (ran up behind, bit 'new'/ green came to outside and stretched out very nicely). Time was good (1-4.4), pace was good (34.90 1st-600m) and drawing a line: LIESERL ran well without threat (5th, beaten 2.5L ?) but was no match at all for Danehill Smile (sidenote: careful pre-post betting, she had a slight set-back this morning (Tues) in a trial). Liked the run of I AM INVINCIBLE here. Led, had company all the way and they ran along, kicked clear then run down by two smart ones, top effort! PLEASURE TIME, from last, had the best sectionals home which is a stat full of merit when you watch the replay and see he was barely ridden out! Probably wants 1400m. Race 6 and again they ran along. A sub-47 1st-800m set it up for the closers. Winner DOUBTING deserves all the accolades though, she carried the big weight, she came wide before the turn with no trail in, and she won! GREY STREAM was excellent on pace (much better when leads!) in swoopers race. SHIRL PEGASUS recovered from tardy jump to get good run. She wants further now. VITESSE DANE ran on super after being held-up turning. Nice. PEKALAN came around Doubting, no trail and ran well. Time: 1:22.61 was .23 slower than 3yo filly Gold Edition. .speaking of GOLD EDITION. She brained them back to her own sex at level weights. Ran along up front here (46.16 1st-800m is scorching) and ran 1:22.38 overall. This 3yo filly ran the fastest of the 4 x 1400m races and did it all herself up front. TUESDAY JOY was terrific chasing her hard to the lien late. JUST DANCING hooked out turning, ran on but was no match for 1st, 2nd. Others worth a mention? RENDZINA (worked home nicely from the tail) and DONNA'S APPEAL (ran on/ hit line). In the last, the promising BRYANNBO'S GIFT joined in quickly and was strong in winning. Looks the type likely to go right on with it. Was surprised at his short quote before the race, but not afterwards! BUZZY HENRY led in 47.38 so didn't walk, did a good job to hold off all-bar winner. SEA BATTLE worked home very nicely at odds and was probably a shade too close to the inside also. PEREGIAN worked home also, off the back of winner, no match but looks a good bet in something a touch easier! Overall time of 1:23.01 was a race record. THE FORGIVE FILE: SEPIA (wide Vs tempo), ASHKABAR (stayed inside rail), SLIPPERY SLY (ditto), FIRE AT WILL (worst ride ever!), COUPOLETTE (respiratory distress), CANADIAN RULER (respiratory distress), ROYAL ESPRIT (stayed inside rail?), GENTLY BENTLEY (wide, played up prior), TIMELESS SPIRIT (inside rail), DIEGO GARCIA (played up/ didn't look right), INFLATION (wide), TZU HIS (inside rail), MY LADY'S CHAMBER (given no hope), CHICKTON (galloped on), BACKDRAFT (wide run, wouldn't go forward as stablemate was leading), SERMON (ridden upside-down). MULAMAN (Inside rail) and LITTLE SAI WAN (poor recovery rate). Phew. To today's selections PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for CAULFIELD are for GOOD track. Rail out 7m. Suspect they will be able to get to the centre of the track and run on here. Always watch and monitor as patterns can change in a day! (as we saw last week). At RANDWICK, ratings are for GOOD track. Rail out 5m. Track has been playing beautifully of late. BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne - Win Bet) CAULFIELD - Race 4 No.4 - CONISTON GEM - Over-raced quite badly last start out to 1400m off walking pace but still expected her to get closer to Seachange (since run 2nd in Gp1 Futurity). Much more speed engaged in this race and her form prior, running sizzling times/ winning brilliantly has her top pick here. BET OF THE DAY (Sydney - Win Bet) RANDWICK - Race 4 No.2 - MURTAJILL - His 1st-up run was outstanding when worked hard, wide early and was never really "in" and kept coming all the way home. Fitter for that, gate 3 today and 1200m looks ideal for this son of Skating. Debut win excellent in Oct (wide all way). Obviously some queries with a few debutantes but keen to back him today! Blinkers 1st time. Good Luck Friday March 2nd 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at CAULFIELD on Saturday was on a GOOD track with the rail True. They were well off the inside rail as they day went on so forgive those close to inside rail. RUN OF THE DAY: Thought BON HOFFA was enormous in the race dominated by APACHE CAT as he was 1st-up, covered ground (no cover) all the way and just kept coming... The winner there is flying, expect Bon Hoffa to be very hard to beat back slightly in grade 2nd-up. They ran super time (1:22.25) for the 1400m. Other good runs in Race 8: SPINNEY (worked home very well 1st-up, fastest last 400m) and ARBITRATION (kept coming ok without threat). To Race 1 and NEDIYM'S GLOW deserves credit for her win as she was a 3yo Filly giving weight to the older mares. AMARAZETTI flew at the line her last 100m. GOLDFIELD ASHES looked the winner after getting through inside, fitter now and BODACIOUS HARMONY was ok late for further (2nd-fastest last 200m behind Amarazetti). They ran 1-3.57 for the 1100m. Race 2, SEACHANGE back from group 1 class led at a walk (49.28 1st-800m) then bolted away. LUCKY DIVA did a good job at the 140m. CONISTON GEM Over-raced today with the slow pace and didn't finish off. Backmarkers had little hope this tempo. MALOOSE was excellent 1st-up for new stable here! Time 1:23.13 MISS FINLAND (Race 3) was very strong late back against her own sex/age at the set-weights. Early tempo wasn't slick. CAUSEWAY LASS beat all-bar the super-filly and relsihed the 1600m. KISUMU impressed (slow out, saved ground, ran on well) her sectionals were inferior only to winner's. O'MARIE did enough, was ok on line. They ran 1:36.59 for 1600m. The boilover of the day was Race 4. CATECHUCHU sat on pace and skipped away off a very slow 50.86 1st-800m. Ran good sectionals herself but HARADASUN lost no admirer's... home in 21.81 & 11.07 (400/200m) were clearly the fastest of the day, and he was 3-wide no cover early. ECLAIR PASSION kept coming, EFFICIENT, closest to inside, ran well hmself Vs tempo. AMITOLA also was ok. Time: 1:24.78 slow (of course) off that 1st-800m. Race 5 saw POMPEII RULER back to his best. Grabbed lead in two big bounds then fights hard. MARASCO had a good trail into the race, loomed-up, just missed 1st go 1800m. AQUA D'AMORE never gave in, never runs poorly! CASUAL PASS was enormous, wide no cover from 800m, under pressure turn but came again back to 2-off inside. He actually had fastest last 200m split of the race! MAGIC INSTINCT / KING OF ASHFORD and HONOR IN WAR all certainly did enough... Race 6 was the Blue Diamond and SLEEK CHASSIS travelled up very sweetly and won well, relished the 1200m. Ran 1-9.83 off a solid 34.36 1st-600m. Runner-up ZIZOU sat off inside (best ground) and kept giving but no match for winner. SHREWD RHYTHM ran on well, in clear all the way. CAMARILLA was excellent. Back & wide, out-paced a little then zoomed her last 200m (fastest of race). CECCONI worked home well, was held his last 100m. As per ususal, they charged along in Oakleigh Plate. 33.75 1st-600m set it up for a swooper. That was UNDUE, beautifully ridden with good cart into race, produced big finish to rill POET'S VOICE who relished being ridden back. MAGNUS tried very hard. SHADOWAYS sat wide near the tail and dragged winner into the race. May well have reversed the result if the runs were swapped??? CREPE DE CHINE was the best on-pacer, good effort here 2nd-up. Time a slick 1-2.74 In the last, the pace/pressure was on (33.99 1st-600m) and the swooper was ASTRODAME... It was a 4-way go on the line with: KING JOHANNES (widest/ home hard), GOING SPENDING (looked winner, swamped) and FALAISE (closest to inside, drew gate 1, so...) They broke 1:10 for the 1200m here so a good gallop. THE FORGIVE FILE: CHINAMORA (ran into trouble again), DEFERENTIAL (stayed inside/ bumped), FAST N FAMOUS (rider reported: on wrong leg, stayed inside rail also), TESBURY JACK (wide/ worked on speed), ZIMSTAR (stayed inside rail?) and GUNNER TOM (severe check 300m). In Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL, Track Good (rained late in day) and rail 6m. Track played well but nothing won hard-up inside rail. RUN OF THE DAY: CROSSWISE in the last had no favours in the run (3-wide, worked mid-race to get in, couldn't) and shot away... Had thrashed Upper Echelon at his previous start and that ran super Vs Mutawaajid/ Gold Edition. In Race 9: VICTORY SCENE was the best run-on horse (best secs), MONTGRESIN kept coming with every chance and POWER OF DESTINY did enough 1st-up off long spell & raced too close to inside rail. They ran 1:10.16 To Race 1 and stablemate of Crosswise, WASTED EMOTIONS led, own pace (35.94 1st-600m) and kicked away... even fitter for that (looked a bit tubby in the yard). ZOO CITY LAD had best sectionals home and ran well. SAMSHING, through on inside, kept coming ok. Liked the run of EMPREOR FU SAN Vs slow pace. Time: 1-3.69. Always impressed when a 3yo can break a track record. That's what happened in Race 2. WESTICARO ran 1-2.51 to beat another promising 3yo in AL BE NIMBLE who kept coming strongly 1st-up. RIKKIZAR led in 34.29 1st-600m and held on for third with HOYSTAR fourth. Had every chance but had a few little issues pulling up. DANZIPPO was impressive 1st-up (and backed) in Race 5... Big gaps 1st-to-2nd-to-3rd a great sign! Expect this form to hold up. FLAMING led, was well-rated, as stated, beat rest easily. HIGH CEE 2nd-up at 1300m is right on target! DIAMOND SUN & MAHTOUM, their sectionals say they did enough for sure. Time: 1:15.98 a good gallop! Race 6 and a 1st-starter got the run, and the prize. Good effort to beat this lot on debut! Ran near 1-4 flat for the 1100m and first 4 here did gap the rest: HUSSON LIGHTNING (knuckled down/ real trier), MURTAJILL (worked hard early, never really 'in' & ran super) and MISS WATAGAN (gave a sight!!!). Race 7 was reduced to a walk. 49.55 1st-800m and on-pacers MUTAWAAJID and GOLD EDITION dominated. Forget the arguments on who leads and who doesnt, she (Gold Edition) is supect at 1400m against the top shelf. It is a fact. UPPER ECHELON (as mentioned earlier) was excellent Vs slow pace and had the best sectionals of the day (400/200m) home. SNIPER'S BULLET was not far behind in the sectionals battle either... Time: 1:23.33 Race 8 and the very honest mare A COUNTRY GIRL got the bob over PASIKATERA... the first four home here were 1-2-3-4 all the way. SPINNER'S MAGIC had her chance but ran well. May be spell time? REGAL CHEER led with big weight. Loved the run of GAWNE 1st-up (wide all the way - kept coming Vs slow pace) at big odds and KAKAKAKATIE also came home super vs slowish tempo. Time for 1300m was 1:16.65 THE FORGIVE FILE: GIRONA (covered ground), LOULOU (wide), JUJULIO (ridden too close), ZAROUK (wide, no cover), TALL TIMBERS (even wider), THE SPIT (interrupted run). To today's selections: PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for CAULFIELD are for GOOD track with a 3m rail. Again suspect they will be off the inside as the day goes on so watch/ monitor. In Sydney racing is at WARWICK FARM. Ratings are for DEAD/ SLOW track. Rail is True. This track can suit on-pacers but with the rain, thinking the inside may chop out as the day wears on. May pay to be drawn off the rail (or have a rider that can read a track!?) later on? Not sure? Watch and monitor of course. BET OF THE DAY: (Melb - Win Bet) CAULFIELD - RAce 4 No.3 - DANEVER - Even race. Going with the one with 'Haradasun' form. Got over heels and ran home super to split Haradasun and Éclair Passion 1st-up (only winner had faster sectionals home) and those two gallopers ran terrific last week (make no mistake about that!) BET OF THE DAY: (Syd - Win Bet) WARWICK FARM - Race 5 No.14 - FORENSICS - Expensive juvenile who won very nicely on debut after sitting wide and traveling into the race under a hold before coming right away. Had trialled beautifully prior. Stable toyed with running her in Blue Diamond last week. Good Luck ! Friday February 23rd 2007 Our Top-Rated runner's section secured yet another Quaddie last week. This time at ROSEHILL - It paid just $6140+ DESERT WAR, DOUBTING ($25), SILKY RED BOXER and MISS PAGEANTRY BET OF THE DAY: McFLY ($6) won and we had GAMBLE ME on top ($7.40) amongst many others. Sign-up for just $29.95 per month, Great Value for 10-pages of professional racing information... SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: MELBOURNE Racing at MOONEE VALLEY was on a GOOD track with the rail True. The track played ok. Running on was no problems pending tempo. RUN OF THE DAY: Thought ANAMATO, from last, then widest off a modest 48.42 1st-800m was excellent. Absolutely all honours with her from this race! It was Race 8 and others who ran well: DELORAINE (had good run, got split, home nice), DELAGO MIST (had the cart in off Anamato but hit line hard), UNIVERSAL QUEEN (had every chance, tried hard, 1500m/ 2nd-up?), FLAME OF SYDNEY (made her run inside Anamato, loomed, held late, fitter). They ran 1-31.02 for the 1500m To Race 1. SUN GLAZED led in 36.65 (modest) was well-rated and kept going strongly. FIRE IN THE NIGHT was a lovely 1st-up run, hit line hard Vs tempo at 1200m. FANTASTIC CHOICE, start no.2, had every chance, ran ok. DISCORSI resumed, and was good on the lien also. Only Fire In The Night had faster closing sectionals. They ran 1:11.70 off that slow-ish 1st-600m. Race 2. PETITE BRIEFS ridden cold (in a race of 4 natural leaders) was a smart tactical move. Did stretch out nicely to run down JESTERCHINE who just loves the 1000m/MV. I GOT CHILLS did enough, rolled around in straight, kept coming though. thought she was ok 1st-up off 16-months. Time: 59.25 off a slick 34.84 1st-600m. Race 3 was also a 1000m race, they led in 35.35 (3-4 Lengths slower than fillies, race 2) but ran 58.37 which is a good gallop. MIND YOUR HEAD, just about run of the day, was 3-wide no cover the trip, worked forward before turn and kept going! Very good win. LORD BENBARA chased him all the way to line, no excuses though. KIPCONI was held-up and well-back but found the line between. These three gallopers had virtually identical final 200m splits. Good speed in Race 5 (Alister Clark Stks/ 1600m) with LA SALLE leading in 48.19 1st-800m. First two home were last/ 2nd-last at the 800m. CASINO PRINCE had a nice cart in but was strong his last 100m. FURIO went forward mid-race with a trail, dragged winner into the race in fact, was only 2nd-up too. Good effort. AMBITIOUS GENERAL couldn't match 1-2 from the 600-to-100m but worked home well through on inside. GORKY PARK worked early and was super-honest as always in swooper's race. Overall time 1:36.38 was clearly the fastest of the 3 x 1600m races. Race 6, also at 1600m, was run in a slo-o-ow 51.73 1st-800m which set up a slow 1:38.52 overall time. Lee Freedman produced another 1st-up winner with a new stable edition. SOULACROIX responded to hard riding and nutted FIRE HAZARD who did look the winner. POLAR BEAR needed more room/tempo, couldn't pick-up off that pace, ran ok. IRAZU did enough Vs slow pace as did DESERT MASTER. MISS ANDRETTI, bullet proof! So tough! Ran 1:10.23 for the 1200m. ANY SUGGESTION travelled up nicely between runners, to inside rail, ran on strongly and these two did space third. In saying that, REWAAYA was terrific running on into 3rd after sitting some 4-wide. MAYBE BETTER (really hit line, very nice 1st-up!) and LAD OF THE MANOR (no luck turning, in traffic, hit the line) were good. In the last McFLY came from well back, got to outside and really flew home, tough to do here, good win! FEARLESS WATERS made her run inside the winner and was coming home with her when the leader ran out and hampered. Got 2nd on protest. FIDEMUS was said leader, didn't walk in front, came to centre but ran out and relegated to third in steward's room. FLUFFY COURAGE was very strong her last 100m. Good return, matched Fearless Waters last 200m split, inferior only to winner's. They ran 1:11.13 for the 1200m the F&M. THE FORGIVE FILE: MONDANO (slow out then raced wide, stuck on), KUROTAKA (covered ground), BROM FELINITY (wide, worked early), COCINERO (wide, no cover), GEE I JANE (poleaxed, back to last, came again. ran ok), IDRIA (couldn't be ridden out hard-up on inside rail) and LADY LISBON (out wide bit soon). SYDNEY IN Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL on a GOOD track with the rail out 4M. They wanted to get off the inside pretty early but two winner's were hard-up on inside rail so.suspect it was very even. RUN OF THE DAY: Thought FIANCHETTO was a tremendous 1st-up effort. Was a mile back coming to the turn and going nowhere until sprouting wings his last 200m. Hmmm. Had 2nd-fastest last 400/200m split of the day! In that same race (Race 4) winner AMORY LANE came home hard on inside rail and was strong. ANOTHER ZENA also ran on/ hit line but came to outside. They had virtually identical final 200m splits. FLAVOURSOME did some early work and fought to the 50m. STRIKE ME HAPPY tried very hard (just missed 3rd) at big odds. They ran 1:16.83 for the 1500m, this form should be ok. Race 1 saw BROMIDE sit on the leader and break clear. SPURUSON flew home, got close late at big odds, just needed more tempo on up front (36.28 1st-600m here). REAL STRIKE in a similar boat, came home nicely.. these two were 1-2 in the 'sectionals race'. Overall time 1-9.99 is a good gallop off that tempo. Race 2 for the 2yo's had questionable depth. KOICHI co-led, got away turning and won ok. PLEASURE TIME the debutante kept chasing, good debut. CARRY ON DUDE, 3-wide with cover then 4-wide before turn kept running on. good job. ROCKBANK came home hard after missing the start. Should have finished closer. KICK N CHASE had the fastest last 200m of the race hitting the lien over on the inside. Their 1:11.07 was .28 slower than the fillies in race 3 off almost identical 1st-600m split.. GAMBLE ME led, ran out a bit late (still bit to learn - shied at a sign I am told !?), and did a good job. 1:10.79 she ran. NEDIYM'S DREAM gradually made ground on leader. tried a protest but to no avail. CLOSET ROCKET came wide a bit soon, did a good job. DANDEE TOPWIN and THEBE had the fastest last 200m splits and ran on to line. TUCHUZY was ok right on line. very late. needs further. AMIANAN is a tough bugger! Looked certain to be grabbed by CALIDAN a couple of times but fought hard to get the prize. ON THE UP ran super 1st-up, really ran home strongly. GREY STREAM over-raced in behind them, kept at it, might be best let run !?!? They ran 1:28.92 for the 1500m off a 53.99 1st-900m so only a fair tempo. Race 6. SILKY RED BOXER crushed them and ran good time. 2:00.98 for the 2000m. Race 7 saw DESERT WAR lead in 47.79 and keep running. soo tough and genuine. MENTALITY lost no admirers, was only 2nd-up, loomed up but just found the seasoned WFA horse a bit much. May well have learnt a lot from that. next run tells. EREMEIN is back in town. Very pleasing return running on/hitting line. CONFECTIONER made ground through on inside. Time: 1-22.23 Race 8 and DOUBTING sprouted wings from the back. Very good on her day she is! MAGICALLY was enormous. Led, annoyed all the way, broke clear and gunned down late by a swooper. Outside of her, the first 5 home settled in the last 4 spots which speaks volumes. SUGARBOMB, always good fresh ran on well from back as did STREET SMART who is forever running on. Good gallop here 1:09.91 off pace/pressure. In the last MISS PAGEANTRY at just start no.2 and up in grade was a stylish winner (had trialled super). Looks the real deal. This race was full of promising horses. a few passed, a few failed the test. EIGHT MOONS (every chance/ ran well), BACKDRAFT (led, had company/ pressure. Good), LITTLE SAI WAN (every chance, kept coming ok), ALLABOUTUS (well back, to widest, flew at line last 200m. very good). They ran 1-9.96 (touch slower than Doubting in Mares/ Gp2 race). THE FORGIVE FILE: OLLIE VOLLIE (wide early, used petrol, stuck on), SERAPHINO (wide no cover), BEAUTY SCHOOL (lame), CHIEF HENNESSY (wide, forward to soon), SLIPPERT SAL (held-up/ shuffled back, kept making ground under no real riding.. hmmm), NORTH OF HAVANA (false favourite but no soft run here) and ROCK REVIVAL (wide). To today's racing. PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for CAULFIELD are for GOOD/DEAD track. Rail True. The rail was true here 10TH Feb and they were off the inside and running on was no problems. Expecting that trend to continue into today especially if we get some rain. Watch/ monitor of course. In Sydney racing is at ROSEHILL. Ratings are for GOOD/DEAD track. They raced here last Sat (Rail 4m) and there was no pattern. Desert War won on inside rail but running on was no problems. Same expected here, run-ons to have no drama (tempo pending). BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Win Bet) CAULFIELD - Race 7 No.3 - FAST N FAMOUS - Brilliant sprinter resuming. Never got a crack at them in Salinger when backed very heavy. What odds here had he won that? Did beat that winner on his merits in the Gilgai prior in 1-8.34 with weight-scale against him. Loved his trial recently in Sydney. 1st-up last prep he won by nearly 5L and is unbeaten at 1100m. What we don't know is. Sydney horse first go Caulfield and is gate 4 ideal? Keen to back him. BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Win Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 8 No.4 - SPINNER'S MAGIC - Looked unlucky last start when slow pace against and was held-up atop of straight when ideally, wanted to be going forward then hit the line very nicely! (clearly best late sectionals in the race) Gets 2.5kg weight-pull on the winner there and 1300m ideal from gate 4 with Darren Beadman. Good Luck Friday February 16th 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at CAULFIELD last week was on a GOOD track. Rail was True and they were getting off the inside as the day went on. doubt the ground out there was "lengths" faster but there did seem a slight advantage so be forgiving of horse's losing margins, well, those who raced on inside rail anyway. RUN OF THE DAY: Bit to pick from! Giving the nod to APACHE CAT who was back and wide, came even wider before the turn with his 61kg and just kept coming. monster win! He flies 2nd-up too. They ran super time in that event (Race 8) also (1-2.84 for the 1100m off a slick 33.86 1st-600m). ZIMSTAR got home hard 1-off inside rail (matched Apache Cat's last 200-m sectional) despite racing in slightly inferior ground. Top effort at big odds (would have liked him winning for Gp 1 subscribers and their quaddie. oh well). STRAIGHT LEGS is super-honest. ELECTRIC GENERAL came off winner's back and home nicely but never looked like winning. THE LANZ did enough. Good win in Race 2 by WILY CAROL, she was 3-wide early, had to work to find the lead and ran a tick over 47-flat her first-800m yet kept kicking. O'MARIE worked home very nicely and CAUSEWAY LASS, 2nd-up, was spotted hitting the line hard, late. They ran 1-23.07 which was .38 slower than.. HARADASUN (Race 3) who sat back, wide and treated them with contempt. Speed was genuine (47.37 1st-800m) but very much worth noting the faster time than the fillies despite a slower 1st-800m. DANEVER worked home nicely, his sectionals were bettered only by the winner's. ÉCLAIR PASSION went back to inside rail (best ground? Race 3?) and ran well. PACINO back to a mid-weeker will get my money.(Yes, they ran 1:22.69 which was faster than El Segundo in Gp1/ WFA but it is no real guide as they went almost 2 seconds - 12 Lengths approx) quicker their first 800m). Race 4 the BD Prelude for the Colts and they went hard. a 33.50 1st-600m is sizzling for the 2yo's and SHREWD RHYTHM kept closing strongly down the centre, doubt we have seen the best of him yet. ZIZOU did a very good job. Dipped at start, settled 2nd but 5L off tearaway and kept battling very strongly! VICTORY CHANT, the leader, did a super job to fight on for third after spending plenty of juice early. Has to get the 1200m of the Blue Diamond is the only tiny query. Can win if ridden more patiently (and can relax!). DEFERENTIAL was slow out, bumped, and ran on hard (best closing sectionals) and loomed a bit. fitter now and can also win with more luck/knowledge in the big one. They ran 1-3.31 The fillies ran 1-3.79 but their 1st-600m was 34.98 so, Victory Chant would have led Miss Lucille (who led fillies division) by around 9Lengths with 500m to travel. that tells the story. Winner CAMARILLA with form around Royal Asscher/ Cinq Rouge and Co. was strong to the line and suspect a fast pace (certain in a blue diamond) may suit her even better. BELCENTRA chased winner all the way, only slightly inferior last 200m split. BEHIND had her chance on modest tempo. DUCHESS DAISY made up nice ground here. showed good ability. (3rd-fastest last 400/200m) Race 6 and CONISTON GEM was a strong winner again. Ran near 1-9-flat for the 1200m and was only 2nd-up. Exciting horse if they can keep her together. HANNA ROSSA was outside the winner most of the way, did a good job, chased hard (actually matched her last 600m split - both = fastest of race). ABSOLUTE DREAM found the line fresh. Race 7 was the Group 1 and EL SEGUNDO made a mess of them. Ran a 10.83 split from 400-to-200m which is outstanding. Slow pace up front (49.25 1st-800m) of course helps these good horses run sizzling sectionals home but still, you have to be able to run it!!! MARASCO passed his test with flying colours. Was wide all the way, no real cover and found the line super. His 11.12 last 200m sectional was the fastest of the day. AQUA D'AMORE was excellent, slow out, hit line hard! MISS FINLAND tried her backside off (she was actually in front 50m passed the post) and you can put CASUAL PASS in that category also (great trier!). TAWQUEET hit the line nicely 1st-up (came home his last 200m in 11.14 - 2nd-fastest of the day). They ran 1:23.24 off that slow early sectional. In the last KING OF ASHFORD was outstanding with his 60kg and all, 1st-up (for Freedman) at 1400m, and showed a very neat turn of foot off a hot pace. RECAPITALIZE had led in 47.17 with the blinkers on and held on for second. BELMONTE came home well 1st-up. Handy horse him. MAGIC INSTINCT was almost as good as the winner. was so strong on the line 1st-up. SPIELMEISTER did enough (came widest) and CAPTIOUS, forced onto inside rail, (best spot ?) kept coming nicely 1st-up and trainer says he'll be much fitter. They ran 1:22.69 which was the exact same time as Haradasun which was interesting. THE FORGIVE FILE: CLASSIC BROM (stayed inside rail), BELOW ZERO (ditto, hit line ok), BEAU ESPRIT (wide run), MISS LUCILLE (pulled-up sore), BONDED (very wide), GRAVITRON (sore), EVILWEB (stayed inside rail & ran on ok), GOING SPENDING (checked twice, to outside and hit line), DANERICH (needs it wet and easier), POET'S VOICE (bit against today - leading) and COALESCE (covered ground). In Sydney racing was at RANDWICK. Track was GOOD, rail true and track played very well. RUN OF THE DAY: Clearly DANEHILL SMILE. finally found a fast-run race and gobbled them up in a few bounds before clearing right out! The best 2yo around to my eye at present but, bit of water to go under the bridge still. The 2yo ran 1-9.06 for the 1200m off a very slick 33.75 1st-600m. She ran virtually identical time to Gold Edition over same trip (admittedly their 1st-600m was over 1 second quicker but still, that is a top effort). GOLDAM set up the hot pace and did a great job to hold on for second. Was taken on mid-race also. Ran very well. LIESERL didn't have saloon passage and kept coming to line with SPRING DRINKS (covered some ground). Thought LAUNDROMAT was a top run. Was back and wide (4-deep) early before finding the line stylishly between runners. It was a slow pace in race 2. 1:18.88 1st-1200m and COUPOLETTE box-seated and won narrowly. The win had plenty of merit as she was up from 1200m two weeks earlier! Great training effort and great ride. JUJULIO can consider himself a touch unlucky this tempo and just sitting back a little too long. just missed. STEP FORWARD led and fought hard. Tempo helped. DEEFOUR was the worst $1.80 chance I've seen in ages. had every chance. Time: 2-04.12 for the 2000m Race 3 and CHICKTON did a huge job. Led in a sizzling 46.36 1st-800m and just kept kicking. All honours! MASTER MAGIC is a real trier, ran second. VIVA CARO ran a bottler here, popped out wide before the home turn with no trail in and closed strongly to just miss. HOTEL CASINO was wide early, got in, and closed well. They ran good overall time off this tempo. Near 1-22-flat. Race 4 and THE FREE STATER scored in a 4-way go. They ran excellent time here, 1-8.75 off a 34.80 1st-600m. This was clearly the fastest of the 6 x 1200m races on the card. THE JACKAL came home hard, just missed. CENTURY SERB was very tough on pace after missing the kick and working forward to sit 2nd and FLAMING led, ran 4th, beaten a head. Great finish! HIGH CEE put in a very pleasing return 1st-up off looong spell. GOLD EDITION made race 5 a one-act affair. Ran 1-9.07 for the 1200m. Interesting in this race they were 1-2-3-4 all the way. MONTANA SUNSET, MONTMELO and ROSE OF SHARON (came wide bit soon) all stuck on, but were no match at all. MY LADY'S CHAMBER had the fastest last 200m split of the race. In Race 7 MONTGRESIN had good trail but had to force into clear straightening, bumped, good little win. LETTER OF INTENT had lovely cart into the race and found the line super (best sectionals), PELENNIUM did some work early to sit outside lead and fought hard 2nd-up. Ready now. RUBINDA (home ok), CAPE BRETON (did enough, 1200m) and VICTORY SCENE (sectionals sound) were all worth a mention. Not sure what to make of Race 8. MUTAWAAJID is a big strong colt with plenty of upside but there were some luckless gallopers in his wake here and the spruik is big. for mine, want to see him do it again and don't want to be on at $3 (or whatever he comes up at). To my eye: SNIPERS BULLET may well have won (slow out 2L, very strong on line) and DANLEIGH (looked just about to launch into the race, inside Snipers Bullet, when stopped cold. we'll never know!). MEARAS was pleasing 1st-up (only Snipers had better sectionals) and DIEGO GARCIA did a good job for wetter. Time: 1-9.58 off a modest 35.08 1st-600m. In the last PASIKATERA won well enough 1st-up. Certainly had every chance on modest tempo but didn't "fall in". SPINNER'S MAGIC was held-up into the straight and worked home well (best last sectionals), STREET SMART (kept coming ok, no match for Spinner's Magic her last 300m though), and MELODY certainly did enough fresh. again, a few made the forgive file here. (time: 1-9.67) THE FORGIVE FILE: MAYAGUANA (not enough room most of straight), SMART MAXIE (wide, no cover mostly), JUST DANCING (given no hope), CASH FOR CARDS (wide, went forward to outside hot speed), MOSSUMI (wide), SHADYARENA (wide, ok on line, has ability), SHYSPIN (missed start), AQUATIC KING (very wide), THE SPIT (3-4 wide, never gave in), ROVING OWL (injured), COURT COMMAND (poor recovery/ heat stress), RUBRIC (too wide), REGAL CHEER (respiratory distress), SHIRL PEGASUS (wide mostly) and SHEEZVALUE (poor recovery). To today's selections. PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for MOONEE VALLEY are for GOOD track. Rail is True which usually means you can run on. In Sydney racing is back to ROSEHILL. Ratings are for DEAD track. Rail out 4M. With a bit of rain about am expecting them to be off the inside as the day wears on but must watch/ monitor. Melbourne: BET OF THE DAY: (Each-Way Bet) MOONEE VALLEY - Race 9 No.5 - MCFLY - Have got a bit of time for this filly. She resumes here against the mares on the minimum. 1st-up last prep she was 3-wide all the way but a strong winner at Werribee (VRC meeting) then really, didn't have much luck throughout the spring often against top-shelf fillies Gold Edition/ Splashing Out. Both runs here terrific including 1.3L 3rd to Splashing Out in 1:10.93. Sydney: BET OF THE DAY: (Each-Way Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 9 No.6 - LITTLE SAI WAN - 1st-up. Think he is quite handy this one. Our track spies tell us he is working the house down for his return. 1st-up last prep he was terrific in rolling Matchless as shuffled back to last before the turn, checked, came 4-wide and gobbled them up. He then went to Caulfield and was 3L off Derby winner Efficient and should have finished much closer as he was held-up whilst making nice ground. Forget Flem run Vs savage bias. Nice odds in early markets. Good Luck ! Friday February 2nd 2007 Well, probably NOT a good idea to sign-up to the Group 1 service this week. Sincerely doubt we can repeat last week's efforts... We covered 27 races and had THE WINNER ON TOP in... wait for it... 13 of those races! Almost an amazing 50%. 22 of 27 in our Top-Rated runners section (82%) Plenty of double-figure winner's too Oh, and yet another quaddie! Not to mention a stack of quinella's, trifecta's and First-4's www.ozracingform.com - $29.95pm Produced by www.ozracingform.com Feedback: gators@ozracingform.com SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at SANDOWN (Hillside) was on a GOOD track, rail was out 9M. The run-on horses had a very good day although it was possible to stick on on-pace if you were able to get out to the centre of the track. There was quite a headwind in the straight also so it was beneficial to have cover entering the long run home. RUN OF THE DAY: Going with AMBITIOUS GENERAL who really launched his last 100m to win very impressively. Had an 11.79 last 200m which was the fastest of the day (minus 1000m races). Was only 2nd-up here too. Very good win! Others in race 2 worth a mention: Runner-up SPEND A DIME looked like running 6th at the 200m but fought off all bar the impressive winner. Very brave! MR SCRIBBLE got shuffled back a little 300m, came outside and came home well and keep an eye on PACINO who resumed here a big odds, led them up but stayed on inside (worst ground) but was far from disgraced/ thrashed. They ran 1:24.29 off a 48.81 1st-800m here. In race 3 1st-up specialist GOING SPENDING got up on the line. That's now 4 from 4 fresh! SIPOWICZ joined in quickly but was swamped late. NOTHIN BUT A STAR looks a moral in something a touch easier, only winner had faster late sectionals. They ran 57.72 for the 1000m here. Race 5 saw BENEDETTI return to the winner's list, joined in full of running at the 300m and won well. AT THE OASIS came home hard, very good again (fastest last 600/400/200m of the race). TIME MATTERS is super-honest. CAMP KALANI led, and was gallant. RUBISCENT really stretched out nicely his last 200m from a mile back and STARZANDO worked home well. Plenty of good efforts here, time of 1-35.84 was almost 2 seconds quicker than the mares in race 8. Race 6 and LUCKY UNICORN knuckled down strongly to score. Had the best splits home coming from off midfield. OUR SPUR was very good on-pace again. BROM FELINITY weaved through and hit the line, nice return from her and ditto ditto for UTILITY who is in for a good campaign. ELBRUS worked home well for something a touch easier. They ran 1-22.69, easily the fastest of the 3 x 1400m races. Early split was 48.38 (1st-800m). SATIN ROBES burst through on the inside (but off rail) in race 7. Good to see her salute again, suspect the win had merit as she was, maybe, 1 or 2 horses too close to that inside section!?!? SPIELMEISTER put in a lovely return, really hit the line at the 1000m. CHEVAYA and THE LANZ both worked home super also. They ran 57.10 for the 1000m. Race 8 and the 'Mile specialist' SOUL DIVA did it again! The race was on-pace dominated off a 51.39 1st-800m (they had a 13.32 split from the 1000m to the 800m). SCARLET SCENE was 2nd all the way, fought hard. WILDCOAST was the usual super-honest 'Make Up Lady'. SWINGING BABE and PINSEMTOIT certainly did enough (good late sectionals) Vs on-pace race/ slow pace. Time was 1-37.49 (slow, due to slowly run race, funny about that!). THE FORGIVE FILE: KIPCONI (home well too close to inside), SUPER MARIO (inside rail), IRIS IN THE GLEN (3wide from 1000m, took over too soon, good effort), FIELD HUNTER (covered ground), POLAR BEAR (too close inside with big weight 1st-up) and RUBY TROIS (plenty against). In Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL. Track was GOOD, rail was True, and it was very fair racing. The run-ons had no worries. RUN OF THE DAY: Going with CASH FOR CARDS here, sat 3-wide, no cover all the way but just kept coming after odds-on pop Koichi and ran her down. They gapped the third horse. The run-ons were: SERAPHINO and MOSSURMI who both worked home super/ returned good late sectionals. Pace was slow here and they ran 1-11.61 for the 1200m. CHICKTON was ridden beautifully in race 3. Led, got a break, took a breather and kicked! GLOBAL START flew at the line (clearly fastest last 200m!). You had to look hard to find an excuse for the others. Race 5 and SHEEZVALUE led all the 3 way. She ran virtually identical time to that of The Jackal for the 1100m so this win had merit. There were plenty of in-form mares chasing her to no avail. CHATOYANT came home well (always vulnerable 2nd-up), CHAUD ROCHE had every chance (always vulnerable!), ROCK REVIVAL came wide from a mile back and ran super (as per usual). Chatoyant recorded fastest last 400/200m splits here. Race 6 and THE JACKAL stormed down the outside, as he does, and it was a big win. Recorded a 21.80 last 400m and an 11.21 last 200m. very good splits. KISS MY FUJI and ROVING OWL did some nice work late. SMART MAXIE (The fav.?) joined in quickly at the 300m but didn't finish off. Race 7 and COUPOLETTE came from a mile back at the 300m, joined in and came away, really put the writing on the wall at previous start, paid very well, an 11.48 last 200m was part of a very good finale. ZOO CITY LAD had good run, ran well. Liked the effort of SHANGHAI SALLY who led in a swooper's race here. Best on-pacer her. MILITARY ORDERS and RUBINDA (especially the latter, only winner had faster secs home) ran well. BIG HEAD hit the line late also, home 11.58 last 200m. good gallop here of 1-10.40. In the last, the flying DOUBLE DARE flew over the top of them again!!! Excellent on-pace effort from CALIDAN here only 2nd-up with senior rider taking over. Don't know what to make of these runs: Artistique, Dismissal and Legendary Man??? All are in the 'need to see again' category for now. Time: 1:23.13 off a solid 48.1 1st-800m. THE FORGIVE FILE: PERFECT PIPELINE (missed kick 3L), KOOKA (wide too soon), JUJULIO (took off 800m), RHYTHMIC SKY (wide bit soon) and UPSOZED (wide run). To today's selections.. PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for MOONEE VALLEY are for GOOD track. Rail is 3M. Everyone and their dog was telling us it was a leader's track here on Aust Day eve (rail true) but I seriously doubt there was any bias. The leader's early got away with comfortable leads. and they were all good horses! A few swooped late in the day , umm, night. Rail out 3M here and expect it to play ok. As always here, no disadvantage being in the first four at 'the school' (600m). In Sydney racing is at ROSEHILL for something different. Rail 2m. Run-ons will have no worries on the best track in Oz (my very humble opinion only) BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne - Win Bet) MOONEE VALLEY - Race 9 No.9 - DEFERMENT - Resumes here and always looked a horse that would derive great benefit from his first prep. Won on debut by a lazy 8L at Mornington before very solid effort out sharply in trip at start no.2 in strong race. Over-raced a bit that day and just lacked maturity. Was slaughtered in Stutt. Has the blinkers on here and trial on Monday was nothing short of brilliant! Suspect he is a good racehorse! BET OF THE DAY (Sydney - Win Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 2 No.5 - RULING POWER - Was 3-4 wide at the tail last start and flew at the line against some pretty seasoned older horses when only 2nd-up. It was the best run in the race but alas, we are no richer. Fitter now, out to 1500m, Darren Deadman takes over from (talented) apprentice and back to 3yo company where some fillies have to give him weight. very keen! Good luck ! Thursday January 24th 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at SANDOWN (Lakeside) was on a Good track then downgraded to Dead. Rail was 6m and leaders, off the inside rail, had a picnic. Really, REALLY not a fan of this circuit the minute any rain comes. In this day and age, the ability to read a track pattern early has become (almost) as important as recognising a good run from a bad run. Make it a habit to jot down where the first 3 or 4 horses settled in the run and where they finished, factor in tempo, and bet accordingly. These track patterns can throw out hours of form study. Think there were 3 horses to rattle home on the day at Sandown, and none of them threatened the winner (on-pacer).. VERY WARY this form !!!! RUN OF THE DAY: simply looked for the best run-on horse on the day, arguably it was LACEY UNDERALL who flew at the line late in race 5, good job considering the rain would not have helped her out! In that same race, SKY BAR came home very well, late. ARCTIC SILVER hit the line hard from mid-field, she's going very well but I she is right at her best when there is cut in the ground. The race was a 3-way go between her and GYPSY BATTALIA (inside runs) with SISTER SWEET third (took a while to wind up, hit the line). In race 1, the winner DIPLOMATIC FORCE simply travelled the best in the race, dug-deep. Another 3-way go here. Bob of the head separated him, PROTESTA (good debut off good trial) and EXTENSION OF TIME (led, kept kicking). Race 2, LYKANNA led in a hand-canter and won easily. SENORITE DE LAGO was ok as usual but always happy to bet against her, CLANDON was terrific hitting the line Vs tempo, has real upside. Race 3, URBUN SPIRIT had the run, got up on the line over a gallant ZERO DANGER who is still learning, still rolls around, looks around. Fought hard here. EJAAD has been given life. SURETY is another in the 'plenty of ability, plenty to learn' category. Race 4, IRIS IN THE GLEN led all the way, big kick 400m. DEEP PLAY kept coming, GO GOSSY, ditto, had 2nd-fastest last 200m behind HOME SWEET who stayed inside and got home nice. Race 6, GONE CRITICAL led all the way, PINIONS sat 3rd inside and RAID THE ROYALS ran on (as always, but he never wins!!!). BUST UP ran well fresh, very honest horse. MT BILLY every chance and SAARJUN worked home fresh. Race 7, another leader, LIKE IT IS who has backed heavy after track pattern became obvious and rain had come. WILDCOAST has not run a bad race since Ceasar was stabbed, LAURA'S CHARM did a good job, loomed to win with big weight on a track that really isn't her preferred racing surface (likes firm). SHASTA, home nicely Vs pattern continues to thrive and PINSEMTOIT ran on well Vs pattern. Race 8, CORRECT AMOONDO produced a top effort 1st-up at 1600m, sat on-pace (of course), DREAM THE DREAM flew home, one of the runs of the day and best late sectionals here. HURRICANE GUST is very honest and BIANOMOUR had his chance. THE FORGIVE FILE: CHINAMORA (lame), READING COUNTS (back Vs tempo/pattern), WHATABELLA (ditto), VICELLO (ditto), COSTA ZOOM (took off mid-race), SAMANA (ditto), BECCALY (wide), CHANDONNE (everything against), DAI ICHI (wide), STARDDLE (wide too soon, needs cover him) and TALL TREES (wide all the way). Racing at RANDWICK was on a Good track, rail 10m, track played really well. RUN OF THE DAY: DAO DAO was ultra-impressive and looks to be still learning. Darren Beadman got off and gave him glowing praise! Ran 1:35.47 (good time, broke class record). Can go right on this one. In the same race: REDOUTE'S DANCER was slow out and home nicely Vs a good one, bettered that horse's last 600m split. These were the two from this race. In race 2, also over the 1600m, MYSTERY CITY led and ran 1:35.82 (.35 slower than Dao Dao), he is flying at present. WITH A CHANCE stuck on with big weight, LORENZO had every chance 3rd. The race was on-pace dominated. 1-2-3-4 all the way. Race 3 saw the bolter AQUATIC KING sit 1-1, peel 3-wide and produce a nice turn of foot. Did like the run of the runner-up SHADYARENA, 4th rail, niggled a way out, bit green/bit to learn, was held-up until the 75m then sprinted nicely. hmmm. DANDEE TOPWIN was slow out and came home nicely (best late sectionals). A few made the forgive file here. Back to 1400m didn't bother TIN PAN in Race 5, he hit the line super to run down GREY STREAM who travelled well and did look the winner 300m. Good 1st-up here. LIMANI came home well, only Tin Pan had a faster last 200m. Time of 1:23.13 was a good gallop off a near 48-flat 1st-800m. Race 6 and SPINNER'S MAGIC was simply too good. Peeled to centre and ran them all down! MONTGRESIN did a good job and did fight. COUNT MILANO, wide all the way, was typically honest and courageous. Good gallop here also 1:10.04 for the 1200m. FASHFIELD led them a merry dance in Race 7. They have found the key to him in sitting on-pace. Some horse's just love to lead and hate getting beaten, he is one. The nut LANG ran home well, he deserves another city win (any rain?), CAN YOU DANCE found the line here. Race 8 had some good depth to it and it was a bit of a blanket finish, BLESSUS sat 1-1 but did a super job as he was left in front a long way out off a 47.36 1st-800m. Don't knock this win. DON'T TELL TED kept coming to line from off mid-field for second, COUPOLETTE took off 6-wide before turn, couldn't finish off but ran very well. PLUTO PUP needed more room at a vital stage, hit line well and LEDGEWR (best late splits) worked home. Time was 1:23.30 for the 1400m (slightly behind that of Tin Pan) THE FORGIVE FILE: MAID OF ATRIM (wide early, forward to lead), LADY ASTOR (over-raced), SAM SUNG A SONG (over-raced.. spell ?), WAFER (lame), EAGLE ROCK (injured), ROBBED (wide), DON AMIGO (blew start 5L), SCISSION (didn't get 1400m), AMIANAN (not best of luck/ fitter), NUCLEAR SKY (lame), SUPER LUCANA (lame) and BLACK PIRANHA (never clear). To today's selections: PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for CAULFIELD are for GOOD track, the rail is out 10m. On-pacers certainly have not been disadvantaged of late. Watch/ Monitor as always. In Sydney racing is at the KENSINGTON track. Working on a GOOD/DEAD track here and it has been playing ok of late. BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Win Bet) CAULFIELD - Race 8 No.12 - HERE DE ANGELS - Looked a star in the making in initial campaign winning by big spaces, running fast times despite the fact he still looked to have his 'winter coat' on. Was tired but still won in last run before spell. Stable expecting big things and they are rarely far off when they 'spruik' one. Keen here! BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Win Bet) KENSINGTON - Race 6 No.4 - PRINCE ARTHUR - Phenomenal effort last start when wide, working the entire race (for 2000m!) yet kept going strongly to win. 1st go 2400m here but cannot see that slowing him down. Flat refuse to bet against a win like that (bet it run makes or breaks him as a serious racehorse!). Hope you stuck last time. go again I reckon! Good Luck ! Friday January 19th 2007 ANOTHER quaddie in our top-rated runners last week left our Group 1 subscribers very happy. This time, it was Melbourne's turn! DANCE THE WAVES SONIC QUEST SOUL DIVA, and HOFMEISTER All in our top-4 selections would have left you over $600 better off In addition. Value winner's: * Shrewd Rhythm (top-rated, paid $11.10) * Lucky Secret (top-rated) * Laura's Charm (2nd top pick) * We have 7 of the 8 winner's in Melb In Sydney: The form continued with BET OF THE DAY Junebug saluting and our best EACH-WAY BET OF THE DAY, Prince Arthur putting in an amazing effort to score at $4 Again. we had 7 of the 8 winner's ! BIG AUSTRALIA DAY meeting next week, you can sign-up for just $29.95 per month. Limit 500 subscribers for the Autumn. Produced by www.ozracingform.com Email: gators@ozracingform.com SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at CAULFIELD last week was on a GOOD track with the rail out 4M. On-pacers certainly were at no disadvantage. RUN OF THE DAY: Have to go with SONIC QUEST who was slow out, well back inside to turn but when in the clear, picked-up 6 lengths in a few strides. Impressive win that and he has real upside. They ran sharp time (1:22.17) off a solid pace (47.42 1st-800m) Other good efforts in Race 6: BIANOMOUR (covered ground/ kept coming/ measured up!), ELBRUS (liked him hitting the line for something a touch easier), LUCKY UNICORN (slow out, mile back, did find the line. Only winner had better last 400/200m secs). To Race 1 and the nicely bred SHREWD RHTHYM did a good job to come from near last, peeled out (bit green on turn/ hanging) and dug deep. It was a 3-way go here, runner-up BEAU ESPRIT refused to give in after leading in 34.91 1st-600m (faster than WFA sprint, 1100m, later in day) and LISTEN HERE, who covered ground, travelled up like the winner but didn't quite finish off. Vet reported a slow recovery rate. They ran 57.89 for the 1000m. Race 2 and GINA LOLLAWITCHA led, slipped away top of straight, and held on. Funny race, 1-2-3-4 all the way the on-pacers. WILY CAROL lost no admirers, still learning, did hit the line (best closing sectionals), LA CHASSEUSE & LA FAMILIA had every hope on pace. Time of 1-9.67 for the 1200m was .28 slower than the Colt, Lucky Secret in Race 3. . where LUCKY SECRET led in 34.85 1st-600m (.62 faster than fillies) and won well enough. Was tested (under whip) last 100m but held on. SPEND A DIME tried hard, 2nd all way. FUKUTSU kept coming well, CASINO PRINCE slow out, last into straight, was strong on the line though. AMBITIOUS GENERAL made ground ok, late. Race 4 was the fastest of the 3 x 1200m races. They ran 1-9.17 the mares and LAURA'S CHARM, although a touch lucky, maintained her excellent 1200m/caulfield form to hold off LUCKY DIVA who did hit the line the last 50m after being strung-up badly. AMARAZETTI came 3-out into straight and loomed a bit. FEARLESS WATERS hit the line ok very late here, actually had the fastest last 200m of the event. Race 5 was The Rubiton Stks (Wfa) and DANCE THE WAVES led in 35.03 (not quick) but kept kicking very strongly. Ran good overall time 1-2.96 which he has proved he can do! BARABBA ROAD ran well with every hope, MESSAGE BANK would not know how to run a bad race and SUPER ELEGANT did enough. COCINERO couldn't sprint when asked but did have the best last 200m of the race. BOTERO did enough (watch for easier, goes well 2nd-up). Another leader in Race 7 was SOUL DIVA who got away with a 51.30 1st-800m. Was backed, kept kicking. On-pacers certainly had their chance this tempo, forgive the backmarkers though. Time 1:36.97 for the 1600m. In the last, TOMMIFRANCS led in 1:14.74 the first 1200m. HOFMEISTER, back in distance (had a precedent to run well doing same) grabbed BLUTIGEROO at the 300m, Runner-up refused to yield and in another 20m may well have fought back & won? Ready to win! RUBIJON had the fastest last 600m of the race but big weight told and TAILS OF TRIOMPHE did enough at odds here. Overall time was ok at 2-1.37 THE FORGIVE FILE: MIO MIO (Back then wide), ANHINGA (slow out, leader's race), SNOWSTREAM LASS (Too firm), OUR EVA (wide) and FOREST SPY (wide, forward mid-race). In Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL where the track was GOOD and the rail was True. Track played beautifully. Last winner led all the way on inside rail. RUN OF THE DAY: No doubting PRINCE ARTHUR, wide all the way for the 2000m, went forward mid-race so forever working, and came away the last 200m. Potential group horse! Massive win this!!! Other good runs in Race 6: The fraud SPIRIT OF TARA ran on ok, EMERALD JACK stayed inside and stuck on, OPERETTA LASS kept coming well and HALF EIGHT looks a moral in an easier race. They ran 2-2.27 for the 2000m here. Race 2 saw JUNEBUG come from last to score, good effort off modest 55.45 1st-900m tempo. COMMEMORATING had every hope sitting 1-1 but was only 2nd-up so fitter and did fight hard. MONTSERRAT didn't have the best of luck, held-up into straight, ran ok. Time of 1:29.72 for the 1500m is good going. Race 3 was run at a good clip. TEN OF HEARTS broke away by 4L before the turn, held 2nd but all honours with the winner MASTER MAGIC who sat second, got left at the 600m but picked himself up and really wanted it ! HOTEL CASINO hit the line nicely, ready now. MILITARY ORDERS ran on out wide from tail and XAARTRIK, form last, stayed inside and found the line very well. The Class 3 gallopers here ran the fastest of the 3 x 1200m races in a slick 1-10.04 off a 35.17 1st-600m. In Race 4 (F & M 1200m) they ran 36.52 1st-600m so leader's had their chance. Overall of 1-10.23 is a good gallop off that slow pace. Winner JACK'S GIRL got a narrow gap into the straight and did a good job. She likes winning! FIRE SONG doesn't, and ran 2nd again. Liked the last 200m of SHINKICKIN COWGIRL for further, in more truly run race. Stay with her. Race 5 (C3 1200m) they ran around 6L faster 1st-600m than the F&M in Race 4 (35.44) and virtually identical overall time (1-10.24). MONTANA SUNSET led, was still held-together 300m, and held off the fast-finishing CHICKTON they had a margin on GLOBAL START (ran on but no match). VOCALDESA from last, did run on after saving ground along inside. A Dead-Heat in Race 7 between OUR JETSETTER (mid-field, charged after leader, good/ flying!) and SMART AND FAST (travelled sweetly into straight, looked all over the winner but has poor win strike-rate). RUBINDA flew home big weight and all and RULING POWER was the best run in it, back last 3-4wide and flew down the outside 2nd-up. follow her!!! FLAMING made the last a one-act affair and he was backed heavy! Straight to the lead. Dominant! TURAGA is forever running on, WITH A CHANCE sat outside winner, had every chance but think he is better with cover. DOUBLE DARE had a bit of trouble getting clear, liked him hitting the line (again!), good effort. HIPSTER DOOFUS hit the line from a mile back. 1:16.39 for the 1300m (1:15.08 is the record) is a sound gallop. THE FORGIVE FILE: VALIDATED (bad check!), STRIKE ME HAPPY (wide trip), SPIEL (worked early), DANOISSERIE (wide run), LE ENDI (worked early), VILLA BLED (wide on speed), DISMISSAL (3-4wide, no cover) and VERB (back & wide). To Today's Selections. PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for SANDOWN (Lakeside) are for GOOD track, rail out 6M. They have been off the inside here of late with True rail but on pacers have not been disadvantaged. In Sydney, racing is back to RANDWICK. Ratings are for GOOD track, rail is out 10M. The track played very well here New Year's Day with a 5M rail. Should be ok but watch/monitor as always. BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne - Each-Way Bet) SANDOWN - Race 8 No.3 - BIANOMOUR - Could not be ridden properly last 40-50m behind Our Apache three-back (good form race) before top win (here) out to 1600m for the first time when backed into favourite. Went back to 1400m for the Listed Barton Stks and ran terrific when 3-wide all the way yet kept coming to the line. Is 3 from 3 at this track now, handles all conditions and do like him at the 'mile'. $5 early is nice. Go well. BET OF THE DAY (Sydney - Win Bet) RANDWICK - Race 4 No.2 - DAO DAO -Recorded a faster last 200m split than the very smart Sniper's Bullet last start, no better form around than that! Loved the way he hit the line his last 100m there! Won his debut like a good horse storming home off a fast pace. Out to 1600m a big plus and has unlimited upside. Gate 1 for Beadman. Good Luck ! Group 1 Subscribers nailed ANOTHER Quaddie last week in Sydney if they took: 1st-leg: ELEMENT (Top-rated. and we had first three home in top-3 picks) 2nd-leg: JUJULIO ($11) beat CROWN TOWN narrowly (out top-two raters) 3rd-leg: FASHFIELD (Third-top rater beat our top two: Only He Knows & Sumac... another trifecta/ quinella 4th-leg: CENTURY SERB (2nd-pick, beat: Count Milano/ Natural Man & The Jackal. This time: Quin/Tri & First-4 in our top four picks! QUADDIE PAID over $1200 Sign-up to the Gp1 Service for just $29.95 Per Month (just $6.71 per week) Friday January 12th 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing in Melbourne last Saturday was at SANDOWN (Hillside) and it was, as expected, a tough meeting with all runners being NMW (No metro winner's) and many different form-lines. The track played "funny", on-pacers certainly were at no disadvantage but winner's came off the inside rail. RUN OF THE DAY: Have to give it to AT THE OASIS who travelled up so sweetly, jockey almost arrogantly looked around for an eternity before shaking him up and he came right away. That is now 2 from 2 for him beyond 1600m. promising galloper ! They ran 1:51.32 for the 1800m which was well outside the 1:48.89 track record (restricted horses remember). Time was ok here considering a sluggish 52.12 1st-800m. Other good runs: HEY ROSIE (came from last, came home hard, best late sectionals), EDGE OF GLORY (ran on well, held late) and KAPIL (came outside top of straight, lost some ground, came home well) Race 1 saw MUSANID sit outside the speed, travel well, and just kept running. CATCHMENT chased/tried very hard, is not a big fella, moves alright though. TATSUHARA came from back, inside, found the line super (fastest last 600m). They ran 56.55 off 34.87 1st-600m. ran .67 slower than fillies in race 2. Speaking of Race 2. MISTAKE CREEK ran 55.88 off a quicker 33.90 1st-600m. Worth noting, they ran faster early, and later (thus overall of course!) than the boys. Winner knuckled down strongly and may well keep improving. BLISSA NOVA led inside, ran along, kicked well in straight but grabbed late. ELEGANT MIME did hit the line at odds, has good dry track record. FOUNTAIN JOY had the fastest last 400m/200m of the race after settling mile back. LEITMOTIF ran ok/ hit line. Race 3 and WHO'S CRACKIN led, own pace (38.73 1st-600m) and broke away very strongly. Overall time for the 1300m was 1:17.59 (record 1:15.91). QUARTON was backed off super run at Kilmore and ran on hard inside which may well have been inferior ground. SPECARD got up inside winner 300m, was no match last 300m. RYOBITON was one of the runs of the day, ran on hard Vs tempo in worst ground and wasn't knocked around at all. KYLEAKIN ran on well Vs tempo as did NOTHIN BUT A STAR. Race 4 saw SHADES OF DANE salute at big odds, His dry record, beyond a 'mile' now reads: 8: 3-1-2. Ran down non-winner ROAD TO ATHENS. PATIENCE N VISION did a good job considering he pulled-up sore in both front legs! EPONA MISS saved ground into straight, held-up, came wider and really ran home.. bit unlucky! No obvious excuses for WINNERSAREGRINNERS ??? It was a race for the run-ons, they ran 2:29.54 for the 2400m. Race 5 saw the speed on! 33.62 1st-600m and slick overall time (55.46). Winner was strong his last 200m, wanted to lay-in in straight but when he got outside he sprinted nicely off solid clip. MATA MIA was only 2nd-up, had good run out in centre, found lead but no match for winner late. On the up. MONSAM led, kicked, but was gunned-down late. BOLD KEL got left behind top of straight and found the line well. NOBLE CREATION was strong late without threatening. Race 6 was a real blanket finish. Careful of form here. PENTACOLO came from well-back off modest 51.25 1st-800m and did cop a check 200m so all honours with him. There were a heap of good runs here and a few most unlucky. as stated, very careful with the form! CANYA RUMBA flew home out wide here!!! In the last, SHASTA was dominant, travelled well from the minute they jumped, covered ground and won easily at near double-figure odds (won like an even money pop). Liked the run of BELLA CASSANI who flew late (sectionals inferior only to winner's), TREMEZZO kept closing along inside (best ground?), SILVER MIST is limited but tries. Time was 1:25.11 for the 1400m so.. THE FORGIVE FILE: LORD SUDURKA (4-wide/ ran well), KIRIKIRISH (inside rail), BONNEY POINT (back & wide), STELLANA (bit against today), TAMAVIAN (4-wide), LAST COMMAND (wide), ABSOLUTE TRUTH (back & wide), COUNT TO ZERO (not enough room), PERUSEN (wide), AUSSIE HUMOUR (wide), GYPSY BATTALIA (always wide), DAI ICHI (slow out, in traffic, fitter now) and WILLINGANI (back and in traffic). At ROSEHILL, track was GOOD, rail out 6M, on-pacers were not disadvantaged but they were off the inside rail. Still, races were run at modest tempo's in most races so that most likely more the reason than any bias. RUN OF THE DAY: BELMONTE resumed with a real eye-catcher making nice ground very near the inside rail. got close to REAL STRIKE late. No Knock on the winner REAL STRIKE though, kept going strongly. STRIKING DISTANCE led and refused to yield. Good return. They ran 1:23.81 off a 50.19 1st-800m. Race 1 and VECCHIA ROMA was impressive, sat back co-last, came 3-4wide and came away. Sectionals were dominant. Obviously come back well. Time was 1:12.20 (just ok) off modest tempo. ZINFANDEL was ok on line, on the up. Race 2 and ZEINAB had good run, had nice weight advantage on the favourite (forget he ran, Mulaman) and won well. MAYAGUANA had sat on the leader, was no match winner but did beat the rest easily. They ran 1:30.32 for the 1500m off a 56.15 1st-900m Race 4 was on-pace dominated. 1-2-3 all the way, they were: RED QUEEN (well ridden, put acid to leader turn), LOVELY LUCY (every chance) and SCISSION (led, no match winner). SEXYAZ kept coming to line, equal fastest last 400m with KANPEKI who came outside. both ran well in on-pace race. ELEMENT led, at a much more modest tempo than at Randwick previously when lost protest and broke away at the top of the straight. Was a mile too good at this tempo (50.83 1st800m) and ran .39 slower overall than Real Strike in Race 3. PLUTO PUP is promising himself, came to outside off modest pace and came home hard. Liked the run! LETTER OF INTENT and LEDGER were no match for 1-2 but ran ok. Pace was on in Race 6 with MONSERRAT leading in 54.63 1st-900m (would have led race 2 by around 9L with 600m to go) and the pressure came on early (line of 5 before the turn!), this set it up nicely for JUJULIO who sat back, got the runs and chased hard to nut CROWN TOWN (ran super up on fast pace with pressure) right on the line. Paid well. DE RIGUEUR went forward 4-wide 650m from home on fast pace so his run was good. EL MEROO was ok home for mid-weeker. Overall time was 1:29.43 almost 1 second faster than Race 2 (no surprise this tempo). Race 7 and FASHFIELD led, kept kicking well, in fact, was as strong as anything on the line (had fastest last 200m of the race!). ONLY HE KNOWS got into the clear but just couldn't finish off. SUMAC had trouble getting a run into the straight, eventually got clear and kept at it well. There were a few 'walkers' in this ! They ran 1:56.62 for the 1900m. In the last CENTURY SERB was impressive. Showed a nice turn of foot at the 200m and ran good time 1-3.79 for the 1100m. COUNT MILANO never runs a bad race, ran second, and NATURAL MAN back out to the 1100m filled 3rd at nice odds, was no match winner though. THE JACKAL worked home well between runners, had fastest last 600m but interestingly, his last 200m was .14 slower than on-pace/winner Century Serb. DUKE BONGA LONGA matched winner's last 200m split but is a bit of a tease. THE FORGIVE FILE: MULAMAN (over-raced, hung badly, ran off track!), SERIOUS MONEY (something amiss), JOEEJONZ (given no hope), ANAPINE (wide, no cover, worked), ROSA'S SPUR (4-wide bit soon), NOREIL (given ho hope taking off early but wants wetter anyway) and HADAAF (took off too soon). To Today's Selections. PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for CAULFIELD are for GOOD track, rail is out 4M. Track played ok here New Year's Day with a 10m rail. Watch/ Monitor as always. In Sydney racing is at ROSEHILL (again! Amazing track with the traffic it cops), ratings are for GOOD track, rail back to the True. There is some protected ground inside but I sincerely doubt running on will be a problem! Watch/ Monitor though. BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne: Each-Way) CAULFIELD - Race 6 No.5 - BENEDETTI - Smart horse this. Got back and stayed on inside rail 1st-up which was clearly inferior ground so forget that. Went to Standish 2nd-up looking for further and got back, then hit the line very sweetly. Desperate for 1400m, drawn well, he looks ready!!! Early quote (sportsbet) has him around the $5 mark. Can settle just off the speed here. BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney: Win Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 2 No.7 - JUNEBUG - Top effort last week against the flying Double Dare as she went forward 3-4wide before the turn with no cart in and went with that horse (2nd-fastest sectionals home). They ran the fastest of the 3 x 1500m races there. In with the 52.5kg, this is the lightest weight she has carried in her life! Go well. Again, hoping for around that $5 mark. Good Luck ! Friday January 5th 2007 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at MOONEE VALLEY last Saturday was on a GOOD track. Rail was True and running on was certainly no problems at all. RUN OF THE DAY: Tough one but going with STRADDLE who finally found the line after frustrating run of photo seconds in recent times. Think he is a much better horse ridden with cover and saved for one late sprint. Was well-handled here tracking into the race on the back of Rubiscent and finishing hard. Race 6 was full of in-form horses, other good runs in it: PICQUART (suspect he wants bone dry tracks these days, took off 550m and very nearly pinched it after so so effort his previous run on Dead ground), PIETRO VANNUCCI (was shuffled back before turn, got narrow gap and finished hard), OUR RAPHAEL (very honest) and don't sack RUBISCENT yet! Race 2 saw STARBIRD sat back and finished off hard, only poor run in his career has been on Slow/Heavy track. Ran down KAPHERO who some said was unlucky? Well, he was but looked to be out in time, it is tough though to accelerate quickly with big weights! AADELAIDEE led, had one outside & pressuring but they didn't go hard. Race 3 was a real swoopers race. The first 4 home gapped the rest, they were: FIRST WORLD (came widest, strong on line), GANADOR (out 3wide 800m on back of Light Vision to the 600m), LAZER SHARP (ran up behind leaders then ran out of room. Most unlucky!) and LIGHT VISION (travelled up like winner turn, swamped). ANAIS was well-handled in Race 4, box-seated, forced out turning and won well enough over BRONZETTA chased hard, she's under-rated. SHASTA flew home late down the outside, loves the Valley. DANCE AT ASCOT led, and will be fitter for this. Race 5 saw SUN GLAZED lead all the way, LYKANNA got close late but the former pinched about 4L before the turn which proved a winning move. These two spaced 3rd and PRIME TIME who did cover ground a touch soon and ran well at big odds. Another swoopers race was Race 7. SO DECISIVE tagged HURRICANE GUST everywhere and ran him down with the weight-pull. Might make a handy horse if he can settle and get further. Runner-up was very brave (again). RAPHAEL worked home nicely to complete a healthy trifecta dividend. GENERAL MACKJOSH took off 4-wide a looong way out and stuck on well considering he set it up for the closers, they went hard in this! MAJORCA is a fraud !!! In the last the handy galloper CAPE OTWAY got the narrow verdict, he is good on his day! Knuckled down strongly to hold-off PELIAS who finished hard at odds. COLONIEL PARKER didn't get enough room at a vital stage and KIPCONI was very nice late after being forced to wait, ease over heels when ideally wanting to be going forward. . NOTE: No times/ sectionals available at time of printing this. THE FORGIVE FILE: LIKE A TICK (worked way too hard, then pressured too soon), ROYAL COMIC (blew start, worked forward, ran ok debut), AMBERINO (nearly fell, picked-up & hit the line.. hmmm), YES DENIS (led ??? Still, not sure how genuine he is!!!), BEEJEEKERS (held-up late, inside rail), CUT IN STONE (good old-fashioned slaughter, did draw wide in fairness), PATERNITY (checked when beaten but never wins!), CZAR OF MACEDON (wide, no cover), MARJONG (no luck entire straight) and COINTREAU BALL (wide, wants rain). IN Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL where the track was GOOD and the rail 6M. They were pretty much avoiding the inside as the day wore on. RUN OF THE DAY: DOUBLE DARE and/or SNIPER'S BULLET. Go with DOUBLE DARE who finally got a fast pace on to suit him and finished very hard! They went 55/08 1st-900m here (quickest of the 3 x 1500m races) and ran fastest overall time (1:29.56). Other good runs in Race 6: JUNEBUG (went forward 3-4wide before turn with no cart in, ran well), WITH A CHANCE (super effort with that weight, never gave in!), DANDY JESTER (led, ran along, held 4th). This form should hold up. To Race 1 and HUSSON LIGHTNING led, travelled well, ran out late but nothing wrong with that win under massive weight. Time was much slower than the fillies (race 2) which was interesting. They ran 1-5.31 here. Runner-Up SOLO FLYER was terrific, held-up twice, lost ground both time and got home hard. Race 2 for the fillies saw MIMI LEBROCK lead through her 1st-600m .21 faster than the colts but scooted home much faster and recorded 1-4.50 for the 1100m so, on times, she beats Husson Lightning by 4L or so. Hmmm. ROYAL ASSCHER travelled well behind, did attack the line. CINQ ROUGE came from last on inside and found the line nicely. Interestingly, winner still recorded a faster final 200m split. Race 3 and SNIPERS BULLET won with arrogance. Last, widest, onto better things now. Ran 1:23.64 off a fair tempo. DAO DAO was very nice the last 100m along the inside, very nice! Has real upside too. STRIKE ME HAPPY led, didn't walk and was taken on a bit, ran well. FOR ACTION worked home well. Race 4 was a rough-house race. Was like a pin-ball game that first turn so forgive a few here. Winner MAYAGUANA was given a gun ride and held off DANOISERIE who had been wide, no cover, all the way. Stiff if you were on the runner-up but she can find ways to get beaten! LITTER never shirked task and LECTURES ran onto heels into straight and should have finished closer. WHO'S MY MUM led in 56.45 and was taken on, tough horse. CANYONVILLE recorded the best late sectionals working home very nicely, did take a stride to wind up. They ran 1:31.07 for the 1500m, slowest of the three 1500m events. Race 7 saw the non-winner DRIZZLE sit 2nd on a fast speed and out-tough a handy field. Led in 55.17 1st-900m (only a tick slower than Race 6 won by Double Dare) and overall time was 1:30.84 (1.26 secs slower). COUSIN WAL sat 3rd in clear, refused to lay down, BLESSUS hit the lead 50m out and just weakened slightly into 3rd. IMPREIAL THUNDER led, went quick, was still 3L in front at the 200m (inside rail best spot?) and it was another top effort at big odds for him. REFEREES and particularly SAMTHEFLIRT worked home nicely, latter had fastest last 400/200m of the race. Race 8 saw FOX LAKE drive up along the inside rail (good win if rail not best spot?) and hold off FLAMING with his big weight. They ran good time 1:10.25. Liked the fight of 3rd-placed IMPALA BULLET who was forced wide when leader went to centre of track for better going. HIPSTER DOOFUS ran on hard as always, just needed to get going bit sooner when held-up a touch. THE FORGIVE FILE: NUCLEAR SKY (forced wide top of straight, ran home well, winner Grandiloquent then rolled a good field on NY Day), FIRE AT WILL (slow out, stayed inside), CALLEY VICTORY (injured), CINNAMIC (faced breeze hot pace), BEAU COVET (ok for wetter/ fitter), FROZEN (stayed inside rail?), INFLATION (held-up badly 300m) and SUPER DRAGON (wide on speed). To Today's Selections. PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for SANDOWN (Hillside) are for GOOD track. Rail is out 3M. They were off the inside here on December 16th with the rail True. In Sydney, racing is at ROSEHILL again, ratings are for GOOD track. Rail is again out 6M and, there is not much doubt the run-ons, off inside will feature. Watch and monitor though before putting on your quaddie. BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne: Win Bet) SANDOWN - Race 4 No.3 - WINNERSAREGRINNERS - Thought he was terrific last start when worked hard to lead, then was taken on in front a looong way from home, and raced on the inside section of track (inferior ground) yet fought on terrific. It is very much worth noting he was a month between runs there and it was his first go at 2400m and he will be much better/fitter for it. Keen today!!! BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney: Win Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 3 No.4 - REAL STRIKE - Smart, under-rated racehorse who is in super form this prep. Two excellent runs at 1400m including big win despite making long, wide run with no trail in before rattled home along inside behind subsequent Villiers winner Utzon when there was no doubt the inside was inferior ground. Tries 1600m for the 1st time in the Villiers but was wide all the way. Back to 1400m, and how did he get in here with 53.5kg ??? Good Luck ! Friday December 22nd 2006 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at SANDOWN (Hillside) last week was on a GOOD track with the rail True. It was certainly no advantage to be up on the inside rail particularly as the day wore on.. there were a few beaten favourites who raced on that inside section so it may pay to be forgiving. Only two horses swept home from the back to score, CAN LAGO and CANITELLYA. RUN OF THE DAY: Clearly it was RUBISCENT. What a run! 3-Wide no cover to the home turn, then lost ground out there rounding same, was starting to pick-up when squeezed out by Con Con and rider/horse was severely hampered. He picked himself up and flew at the line and may well have (still) won had he not rolled in! Still learning. Home 22.45 and 11.48 among fastest of the day. follow him! Other good runs in Race 6: TEST FIRE (big odds but just kept kicking strongly. Led in 50.38 and got to the right part of the track but cannot knock the win), KOUNTHEKASH (got up inside, maybe too close inside? Did keep finding the line. Only R-up had faster last 200m split). ARBITRATION had every chance but kept coming to the lie also. ELBRUS held his ground all the way at first crack at the trip. They ran 1:43.36 for the 1700m To Race 1 and CANITELLYA came from last, was niggled at a way out but ran them all down. Hayes did warn she would improve sharply with the blinkers on! INCUMBENT went forward to outside leader, only grabbed late, good effort. MR STANDFAST showed good natural speed, led into straight (travelled ok) but was on inside rail (race 1). ROYAL DOMAIN made his run with the winner down the outside but was no match for her. Recorded second-fastest late sectionals. They ran 34.71 1st-600m here and overall time of 58.09 (older horses ran 56.77 later in day off faster early tempo) Race 2 saw GOLDFIELD ASHES sit outside the speed and win. Like the fight she showed when challenged. DELORAINE came from co-last outside, ran home very well but couldn't catch winner. EL PAUJI kept coming to line between runners. On-pacers had their chance here with a 49.74 1st-800m and overall time was 1:24.74 (faster early, slower overall than open class R4). Race 3 saw SENDEED box-seat, peel out and prove too strong in 3-way go. Beat SWAINS WORLD (sat outside very slow tempo) and EMBANK (led, on inside) who had led in 51.67 1st-800m which is a crawl. There was quite a gap to 4th. Time: 1:38.79 (around 6Lengths slower than Imagining in the last) Race 4 and OUR APACHE dug deep today. Just held on from THREEDEE who had peeled off his back so you'd say he had his chance! PINIONS led in a modest 49.95 and was off the inside so had chance. RED ALI, super honest, home hard again (best late sectionals, 3rd-fastest last 200m of the day). TIMBOON ran on Vs tempo also. BLUTIGEROO did enough. 1:24.02 was the time for the 1400m. The 2400m event was Race 5. SPECIAL SCENE had good cover, got to the centre and ran on hard to roll the gallant HOME SWEET who had to take the field up to Crying Storm who had led relatively slowly but poured the pace on from the 900m (out by 5L), very good with the 58! HE'S A PERLA looked gone 400m out but came again late, only winner had faster last 200m. RUNAWAY WALK had chance, worked home. WINGS ON FIRE doesn't win but worked home and old ELWOOD did enough, he still tries but isn't as good as he was. They ran 1:43.36 here. CAN LAGO the 1st-up specialist sailed home from the back with a big finale. Leaders did get along (34.13 1st-600m) and overall time was sharp, 56.77. MURRAY DOWNS led, travelled well, only grabbed late, good effort. WATCHYERBACK rattled home back to the 1000m, had an 11.32 last 200m (fastest of day. Can Lago 11.39). KAPHERO had every chance, BOL DKEL worked home well and FLAMIN UNREAL was fair for easier. In the last the promising IMAGINING proved too strong, again, liked the fight she showed, she has courage to go with her touch of quality and may well keep improving!? It was on-pace dominated with a 50.72 1st-800m. BENKO went forward outside (that is the key to her, outside horses!) and fought hard. SWINGING BABE settled 5th and hit the line nicely between runners. Best late sectionals. Ready now! PLAYWIN and RULAN RUBY certainly did enough Vs tempo as did KINGSTON BIRD who matched Swinging Babe's last 400m of 22.95. they ran 1:37.64 THE FORGIVE FILE: ANA'S MAIL (respiratory distress), BLOCKER (bit to learn!), DUSIT THANI (slow out, ridden-up, over-raced, went forward 3-wide no cover, given no hope!), BIANAMOUR (couldn't be ridden the last 50m, should have finished closer), TOMMIFRANCS (slow out, went up inside?), ATAPI (went to inside rail, still had 2nd-fastest last 400m), JYGAH (poleaxed top of straight), ANY SUGGESTION (inside rail) and BENEDETTI (ditto. 1st-up only at 1000m). In Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL on a DEAD track with a 2M rail. They were off the inside rail pretty quickly as expected. RUN OF THE DAY: Photo finish between THE JACKAL and REGGIE. going with THE JACKAL as he was only 2nd-up. Came from last (in the last) and gobbled them up in 2 strides. very talented racehorse! Home 11.38 last 200m was amongst the fastest of the day. Other good runs in race 8: KELTIC FLASH (sat up 2nd on solid, but not hectic, speed and fought on), UBER (found the line super between runners) and CONNOISSEUR (kept coming to line). They ran 1-4.11 which is a good gallop on a Dead track. Race 1 was won impressively by CAJOU with the blinkers on. Sat back and came right away! Time was 1-5.01 off a 35.99 1st-600m. SAFFIR SIMPSON showed a bit! Was hard at it before the turn, came outside and kept closing. STARRY NIGHT got home very nicely late, between. Could not match winner's last 600m but hit the line best! Race 2 saw two impressive youngsters fight out the finish. SNIPER'S BULLET (has a turn of foot!) beat GRAND CAUSE (fought hard when grabbed) and they thrashed the rest. ran 1:17.20 for the 1300m. Follow these two with confidence. MULAMAN worked home well considering he was 3-wide the trip! DOUBLE DARE won race 3 scooting home in 10.92 his last 200m (21.55 last 400m) which was clearly the fastest of the day! His effort to rattle home from well back off a walking tempo up front (51.16 1st-600m) was excellent! Overall time couldn't be too flash off that, and it was 1:24.91 so. FIRE AT WILL ran home too close to inside, good effort. PANJANDRUM had every chance on this speed. In Race 4 they went slow early then one took off 900m out giving the backmarkers their chance. OPERETTA LASS came through that strong form race, and was strong to the line today.. that's moire like it! GOLDTOWN hooked wide and got home hard. Just missed. COALMINER was the one taking off 900m out and leading, fought hard. Race 5 and BLESSUS finished hard up the centre to grab IMPREIAL THUNDER who was annoyed in the lead all the way, broke clear before the turn and fought off all-bar winner. These two runs were terrific. SAMTHEFLIRT did enough after being slow out, kept finding line and was held-up a bit turning. They ran 1:24.04 for the 1400m, much faster than Double Dare but they did go through their 1st-800m almost 2 seconds quicker!!! TAKEN AT THE FLOOD loves Rosehill. He is flying and finished too well for CONFUSION (every chance). REGGIE was enormous. Restrained to tail, took off 900m with no trail , still loomed up. top effort! RED ROBERT kept working home, it was his best effort at the trip.. there were a few flops here. They ran 2:31.31 (record 2:25.78) Race 7 saw DANTAIN'S QUEST lead all the way. Kicked well/ good little win! COUPELETTE came from well back, got up along inside then got off inside rail. the run was either very good (inside section, home fast) or very flattering (saved ton of ground ?).. time will tell. CANYONVILLE peeled out, laying in proved costly! SANOISERIE was strong late, had equal fastest last 200m as Coupelette. THE FORGIVE FILE: GLENARVON GIRL (checked 150m, picked-up again and hit line, good!), TRIPLE DOWN (shin sore), O'REASONATE (inside rail), SPARKLING SANDS (ditto), PARY CRASHER (poor recovery rate), KINCHARM (Saddle slipped), SHINKICKIN COWGIRL (wide), THORESA (very wide turn), FOX LAKE (So talented, suck a lunatic!!!), ZAROUK (wide), GUMNUTS (hampered late), SILVER STREET (no luck entire straight) and DON LUIGI (lame/ amiss). To today's selections. PLEASE NOTE: All selections for SANDOWN (Lakeside) are for GOOD track. Rail is True. Track can suit on-pacers but there has been a bit of traffic lately so thinking run-ons will have no problems but do watch/ monitor. In Sydney racing is at RANDWICK and ratings are for GOOD/DEAD track with the rail True. It may cut-up inside as the days goes on, must monitor! BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Each-Way) SANDOWN - Race 7 No.10 -POSITIVELY PERFECT - Blinkers off, Winkers go on. You simply must respect this stable whenever they use a great change (just like the late great 'old man' Colin Hayes). Thought she ran very well last start in fast time behind Warshawsky as she was slow out, worked wide, forward and took field up to tearaway. Debut win prior was terrific coming from 6L off the speed to win by 3L. Just needs touch of luck from the draw. Check Pattern? BEST OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Each-Way) RANDWICK - Race 6 No.14 - PRINCE ARTHUR - Looks a very promising galloper. Has looked in need of the run(s) at both outings this prep and has run terrific. Flew home 1st-up to roll Innings before running on hard 2nd-up in Hawkesbury Cup in fast time. The one on the up, down in the weights and drawn perfectly. Peak fit now and will be backable.Go well. Good Luck. Friday December 15th 2006 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at CAULFIELD last week was on a GOOD track with the rail 9M. Track played very even! Small fields saw quite a few upsets (so often the case!) so I would be a little wary when assessing the form from the meeting. RUN OF THE DAY: No doubt it was HANNA ROSSA who sat back (eased to get trail) and leader's walked in front. A 51.14 1st-800m should have made it near impossible for a swooper but she rattled off 21.64 last 400m then broke 11-seconds (10.95) her last 200m (fastest of the day) to score. Outstanding! Other noteworthy efforts in race 3 were: FULLAZZ (led, own pace, no excuses. Pipped on line), DIRTY DENIM (where is that turn of foot she used to have? Battled on well) and BETSY PIE (too far back, only winner had faster late sectionals) Race 1 saw ZIPANESE successful coming from well-back, saving ground and getting over heels. NOT THAT INNOCENT had led in 34.71 (1st-600m. didn't walk) and kicked strongly. LUCKY DIVA & READYFORCATHERINE had their chance, both kept coming to line. Ran 1-3.38 for 1100m COOL TRENT caused the upset in Race 2. Given gun ride! Ran 1:35.87 for the 1600m off a 49.07 1st-800m. BELLA PRINCESS loomed-up but has an aversion to the winning post I think! BYWAY is a battler and EMERALD JACK a bit of a fraud. GO GOSSY ran on strongly (best last 200m). Race 4 saw PUBLISHING relish the 1400m and demolish his rivals. Ran 1:23.40 for the 1400m. There was a line of three (well) behind him, they were: SAZONAR (ran on well, had equal last 400m split as winner), GENERAL RALPH (every chance, kept coming) and TEST OF TIME (every chance). BIANKIND was ok late for easier/ further. Race 5 and RA SUN made it win No.4 bursting through with LUCKY UNICORN who will have derived great benefit from the run. MESSAGE BANK sat o/s leader, kicked strongly but got the wobbles 50m out. They ran along up front with a 34.29 1st-600m. RAID THE ROYALS ran on (as always) without winning (best secs). ALLSTAR battled gamely and SENSATIONAL SWING produced handy sectionals home. Ran a sharp 1-2.85 for the 1100m!!! BON HENRI led all the way in race 6, was well-rated, led in 48.14 was given a breather mid-race then kicked. They ran 1-23.24 fastest of the 3 x 1400m events. MONO ROCK ran on from the tail (fastest late sectionals) with both KINGS CHAMP and TWO SONS battling on strongly. DOUBLE CLASIC wants rain! Don't we all !?!? Race 7 and JUKEBOX JOHNNY was impressive, peeled to outside and ran down a handy one in ULYSSES who got miracle inside run. They had a margin on the rest and ran good time (2:01.15 for 2000m off 1:14.49 1st-1200m so pace was ok). THE FORGIVE FILE: SERA CIELO (wide, no cover), JACQUES LE NAIF (slow out, mile back, ran on), VIC BY THE JUG (worked mid-race, wants easier), DELVECCHIO (took over 600m? wants wetter and MV). In Sydney racing was at ROSEHILL where the track was GOOD and the rail True. They were getting well off the inside as the day wore on. RUN OF THE DAY: Thought SINUOUS was a great effort. Sat 3-wide, no cover then sent 4-wide before the turn and just missed. Gallant effort! No knock on the winner of Race 4: JACK'S GIRL who missed the kick and was strong the last 100m. TEEPEE GEEGEE came widest and ran on super (fastest late sectionals incl 11.26 last 200m). They ran 1-4.76 for the 1100m trip. YANKEE was very impressive in Race 1. Has a bright future I fancy. The pace was strong (that suits him) and he ran 1:29.29 for the 1500m. O'CRICKEY waited for the split inside and finished off well. He's flying and DANCING ALLEGRO did enough, covered ground turning and ran on. Matched winner's last 200m of 12.19. hmmm Race 2 for 2yo's saw an impressive winner. DANEHILL SMILE. Love the way she stretched out late off what was a pretty sluggish early tempo. MIMI LEBROCK had led, was well-rated, and there was a big gap to the third horse. CENSORIOUS ran on strongly with no cart in, good effort! They ran 1-5.22 the babies. BREAK THE BARRIER was an excellent winner of race 3 overcoming severe check 250m out, picking himself up with big weight and getting up! DREAM MACHINE never shirked it to run 2nd and JAMBEROO (who had led by 6L or more mid-race and in 50.98 1st-800m) also fought on well. KINCHARM completed the 4-way go finish, did loom to win.2:04.24 was the time for the 2000m trip. The run-ons dominated Race 5. Leaders went hard (34.46 1st-600m) and CATSEYE BEACH (really found line) beat IMAGE DANCER (came wide with no real cover/ trail. Good effort!) who'd both settled well back. TANGO FIRE led, kicked strongly, top effort in swoopers race. There were a few forgive runs here. Race 7 was the Festival Stks and UTZON was impressive with his big weight. ANWAAR was super-honest as always. REAL STRIKE ran home a bit too close to the inside for mine and MUSTARD was strong late (late secs bettered only by winner). GEIGERON (very honest) was noteworthy also. Time of 1:22.69 for the 1400m is good going. 48.10 1st-800m here. In the last (1500m) NUCLEAR SKY had every chance, got lovely split and nailed MR BARITONE who had led at his own pace. Field was really bunched coming to the turn. They ran 1:29.88 (slower than other 1500m event). HALF EIGHT was the best run-on, very strong to line and INNINGS had his chance to my eye. THE FORGIVE FILE: SUPER SMUDGE (worked hard, 1500m ???), NOSTRIL (amiss), VELVET SANDS (over-raced badly), FLYING ORDERS (not enough room), GLOBAL START (knocked down, hit line!), HELLUVA PARTY (wide, worked on hot speed), MAID OF ATRIUM (slow out, went fwd, wknd), INTERFERE (amiss), COUSIN WAL (will make nice horse, flew when clear!), HIPSTER DOOFUS (stayed inside rail???), CARGO CULT (very wide & working), REFEREES (wide, no cover) and ALTOMIC (covered ground). To today's selections. PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for SANDOWN HILLSIDE are for GOOD track, rail out 7m. Expecting run-ons (and off fence) to have an advantage as the day goes on but this track can be hard to read pre race-day. Must watch and monitor. In Sydney racing is back at ROSEHILL where the rail comes out 2M. Ratings are for GOOD/DEAD track and expecting run-ons (and off fence) to have an advantage as the day wears on (and pretty quick if rain about). BET OF THE DAY (Melb - Win Bet) SANDOWN - Race 8 No.7 - IMAGINING - 1st-up win at Ballarat was terrific and that form is strong. She then went to town (here) 2nd-up and exploded away from a mare called Star Mystic who had been competitive in the strongest mares races through the spring carnival. Expecting her to be further improved by that run and stable flying. Gate 1 now, and it is race 8 so just check track pattern. Expecting her to go on to Group company!!! BET OF THE DAY (Syd - Win Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 2 No.1 - SNIPER'S BULLET - Has been beaten once in his life and struck heavy track that day (still ran terrific!). Could not have been more impressive winning 1st-up coming from 6L off the speed and winning by almost 3.5L. Runner-up Amalienborg wasn't beaten far WFM Wed. Won by a minute 2nd-up last prep at Dubbo despite racing in much inferior ground. the one to beat Good Luck ! Friday December 8th 2006 SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK: Racing at Moonee Valley was on a GOOD track with the rail True. The track played quite well, horses on the inside rail seemed to have their chance and running on was no problems. RUN OF THE DAY: Liked the win of PLAYWIN in race 4. Went forward 3-wide 500m out and just kept going. Loves Moonee Valley (that's three outstanding runs here from three). Recorded the 4th-fastest late split of the day off a solid pace which is good going. Other good runs in race 4: SANS GENE (led in 50.04, led by 5L mid-race, fought hard when collared) and MISS LA TAR (hard ridden long way out, swung widest, hit line nicely, had 3rd-fastest late sectionals on the card). Overall time 1:38.52 for the 1600m. In race one the expensive yearling FAMILIAL did a good job, liked the fight to hold off Hayes trained (no mean feat!) SMOOCHUM who'd missed the kick a half-length. Ran good late sectionals. CAPTANDEBSI ran on nicely. overall gallop was 59.52 off a 35.55 1st-600m. DELORAINE won race 2 despite a slow pace (51.22 1st-800m) and being held-up, quite promising, will win plenty of races I fancy. SCENIC SILVER & KITZ LANE fought on well on pace and have real upside. MCFLY may want a spell now. A Two horse war it was in Race 3 with HUBCAT nosing out PUBLISHING. They ran 1:10.97 which was .42 faster than the open sprint. This form should stack up! TEST OF TIME couldn't sprint with them but did find the line. Wants 1400m desperately. NEEDLEBOX was sound on debut, kept finding the line and CRACKSMEUP was spotted hitting the line very nicely late (fastest last 200m), keep an eye on him! Race 5 saw YOUTHFUL dig in (well ridden) and hold off ATAPI (fastest last 200m of the day with 58kg). JYGAH is ready to win right race. Not much else to report really. they ran 1:32.098 which was faster than the 3yo's (race 2) off a 50.50 1st-800m. Race 6 & the open sprinters could only manage 1:11.39 and the veteran KELTHORPE was his typically super-honest self in scoring over JENNINGS who kicked to the 50m mark then was grabbed. CYCLONE AT SEA peeled 3-wide before turn and kept closing strongly. Returned the fastest final 200m split. FLASHNIKOV also had solid late splits home. Watch for him in slightly easier grade. Pace was on early in Race 7. Interesting to note MR DANE (1st) and MAD DUGAL (2nd, tough effort with weight) spaced the rest of the field. HE'S A PERLA ran third, SATINSPIN returned to form just in time to cost me the 'First-Four' nosing out LAST SHOGUN (down to run at Stawell Saturday, should run well there!!!). THE FORGIVE FILE: ONEFORTHEGUYS (wide), COLLECTION GIRL (not sure she gets 1600m!), ROYAL LAKES (worked early but is he genuine???), RUBEN (not much room), GOVERNOR BOIS (hit rail), WINGS ON FIRE (slow out, ran on, rarely wins), FLAG RAISER (wide too soon) and DENNISON (slaughtered really!). In Sydney racing was at KENSINGTON track (Good track early, then the rain came) and they were getting off the inside as the day wore on. RUN OF THE DAY: GEIGERON is a bit of a freak horse. just never runs a bad race. Back to 1000m on Saturday, stayed on inside (doubt very best spot) and ren them down. Paid well (again!!!!). It was a 3-way go at the end of Race 4. MUSTARD loomed to win with massive weight and DON LUIGI in the middle fought hard. REGAL EXPRESS was disappointing for mine but was 2nd-up (?). They ran 57.43 off a 34.20 1st-600m.. good going. Race 3 was the debutant SOLO FLYER kick nicely at the top of the straight. The win was good but the runner-up was desperately unlucky. ESPURANTE was held-up on the inside, had to wait, peel over heels and flew at the line. CAJOU had every chance running 3rd but ran well at start no.2 and these three gapped the rest. SPINNERS MAGIC is promising and her win in Race 6 was solid. She did have every possible chance but liked the kick she gave when asked. JUNEBUG ran on super and the well-backed ENDEARMENT (1st-up) had her chance/ ran well. Race 7 saw FLYING ORDERS win well despite sitting 3-wide on the speed (no major disadvantage by now) and held off THE JACKAL (came up 4-wide no cover) and COUNT MILANO (up 5-wide no cover!). DUKE BONGA LONGA ran on well from the tail. These four all ran super! CRUZADO also did enough (had = fastest last 400m as 'Duke') and the time was solid. 1-4.16 and they had some rain by now! In the last REAL STRIKE tracked up 4-wide and got home hard. Paid very well. Underrated horse! MIND THE STEP tracked him everywhere but couldn't run him down and BARON COURT did a good job leading as I sincerely doubt it was an advantage by now! SCORCHED EARTH failed at his first go at 1400m. THE FORGIVE FILE: LORENZO (ran well, follow), YANKEE (follow also), FABERGINE (wide run), FLYING ALPHA (slow 2L, ran on well), TOP CROWN (stayed inside?) and LETTER OF INTENT (held-up & in worst ground). To Today's Selections. PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for CAULFIELD are for GOOD track. Rail is out 9M. Track played beautifully through the carnival. In Sydney good racing at ROSEHILL. Ratings are for GOOD Track, rail True. Track has had a bit of a break, it is rarely a leader-bias here but watch/monitor. BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Win Bet) CAULFIELD - Race 3 No.1 - DIRTY DENIM - Thought she was terrific 1st-up when forced to race 3-wide, no cover all the way and sat off the walking speed (they ran 39.03 their 1st-600m there), despite this, she really hit the line and recorded the fastest last 200m. Fitter now, want her to box-seat from gate 4 around here and she was desperately unlucky 2nd-up last campaign (her only defeat in first 6 runs that prep). Gets weight advantage on Hanna Rossa here too. BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Each-Way) ROSEHILL - Race 7 No.3 - CARGO CULT - Dam good horse this. His last two runs have been outstanding. What a run in the Gp3 Sandown Stks when settled last (and nearly in another suburb) before producing whirlwind finish on a day leaders were suited, and they ran a track record! Ran faster late than the (very) smart SWICK (home 11.16 last 200m!) who'd been competitive with Racing To Win. Previous run when (again) a mile back in Gp2 at MV he (again) produced amazing sectionals despite swinging wide with no trail in. There looks to be enough speed on here to suit him, yes, it is his first go 'Sydney way' but at the $7, very happy to be on. Good Luck ! Friday December 1st 2006 PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for MOONEE VALLEY are for GOOD track. Rail is TRUE which almost always means you can run-on & inside rail may not be very best possie. In Sydney racing is at KENSINGTON track. Ratings are for GOOD track, rail 3m (1600m-WP). BET OF THE DAY: (Melb - Win Bet) MOONEE VALLEY - Race 8 No.4 - IRIS IN THE GLEN - Was up sharply in distance 2nd-up and found the lien nicely before every chance last week in slightly stronger grade and close-up. Peak fit for this trip now. Well-placed in weak race. BET OF THE DAY: (Syd - Win Bet) KENSINGTON - Race 6 No.3 - FLYING ALPHA - Absolutely flew home 1st-up from mile back before terrific effort 2nd-up when wide all the way and took off a looong way from home before being gunned-down late. Still looked winner 200m. Peak fit now, stays down in weights. Just needs cover from awkward alley. Keen today! For FULL Ratings of EVERY race in Metro Sydney & Melbourne become a GROUP 1 Member at www.ozracingform.com Just $29.95 per month Good Luck ! Friday November 17th 2006 PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for SANDOWN (Lakeside) are for GOOD/DEAD track. Rail is True. This meeting last year the track played "funny" (leaders early/ swoopers late) but that was on the Hillside circuit. Can be a difficult track to predict as far as bias goes. must watch/monitor early races. In Sydney racing is at ROSEHILL. Ratings are for GOOD/DEAD track with the 6m rail. Doubt you will have problems running on. BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Win Bet) SANDOWN - Race 7 No.2 - CASUAL PASS - Excellent run in the Cox Plate when took off 5-wide 800m out, lost ground turning out very wide but hit the line hard (4th-fastest late split). That form obviously outstanding. Beat El Segundo/ Pompeii Ruler prior when drew nicely (like he has here). Was being set for a Caulfield Cup so not concerned at all about the 2400m trip BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Each Way Bet) ROSEHILL - Race 8 No.5 - LETTER OF INTENT - Smart galloper resuming. Is much, much better fresh than the stats show (often luckless!) and could not have trialled much better recently. In with just 53kg (he is used to carrying massive weights) after claim for in-form apprentice. Go well BONUS (Free) Top-Rated Runners - SANDOWN CLASSIC 2006 Race 7 - Gp2 Sandown Classic WFA - 2400m 1. 2 - CASUAL PASS - Excellent run in the Cox Plate when took off 5-wide 800m out, lost ground turning out very wide but hit the line hard (4th-fastest late split). That form obviously outstanding. Beat El Segundo/ Pompeii Ruler prior when drew nicely (like he has here). Was being set for a Caulfield Cup so not concerned at all about the 2400m trip 2. 7 - KING OF ASHFORD - Terrific effort at Caulfield (Coongy Hcp) off hot pace when settled back, swept into the race with no trail and was gunned down late by Maybe Better who was then the first Oz horse home in the Melbourne Cup. Forgive Flemington run when dynamite bias against and he actually recorded good sectionals home (4th-fastest) despite racing in inferior ground. 2 from 2 beyond 2000m including big win over Kerry O'Rielly at 2200m who'd been competitive here. 3. 11 - ZAVITE - Genuinely promising stayer who was taken to the lead on the Q.E. which didn't suit the horse, or the pattern of the day (swoopers), will be ridden off the pace here and although WFA is a big ask, his form through Southern Courage (impressive Cup day) ties him in. 4. 16 - SADDLER'S STORY - Very good in Geelong Classic when may have tested subsequent Derby place-getter Gorky Park but was held-up badly. Wasn't suited coming back in distance at Flemington. Back out to a trip here and no weight this scale. There is no depth in our stayers. He can run well here. 5. 15 - FURIO - Best run in the race at Geelong when worked early and was still right there 100m out. Dominant win with big weight at Flemington. Very promising horse and the blinkers have switched him on. Go well also. 6. 4 - SHOW BARRY - Didn't lead at Flem (assuming due to track pattern) but was typically honest. MV Cup 2nd to Zipping (4th Melb Cup) is great form for this. If it's on-pace pattern he is very hard to beat. Good Luck ! Friday November 10th 2006 Group 1 Subscribers on Melbourne Cup Day received our cup selections. We gave our top-rated runners and secured the winner, the quinella, the trifecta and the first-4 in our top six selections... Trifecta Paid $1100 Pick-4 paid almost $10,000 Produced by: www.ozracingform.com email: gators@ozracingform.com PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for FLEMINGTON are for GOOD track. Expecting running on to be no problems today! They are digging up the track after today. YAY !!! In Sydney racing is at RANDWICK. Ratings are for GOOD/DEAD track, rail True. Watch for any patterns here, especially if the rain has come. BET OF THE DAY: (Melbourne - Win Bet) FLEMINGTON - Race 6 No.15 - DIVINE MADONNA - Freakish performance here Saturday running on hard out in the centre where no horse made ground all day. In fact, she had the second-fastest sectionals home (only Gold Edition went faster) despite being in the quicksand. It was her first go at 1600m. Umm, she passed the test! No weight here, she will be flying home and sincerely doubt there'll be on-pace bias here! Caulfield run prior she had 2nd-fastest splits (of the day) home & win here prior was as good as you see racehorses win!!! BET OF THE DAY: (Sydney - Win Bet) RANDWICK - Race 6 No.1 - AMEN - Tragedy beaten 2-back behind On The Up who has since run enormous. Has form around Newport also who has since won $100k race at Flemington. Excellent win last start as he had to work hard early to sit outside the speed before relaxing and braining his rivals. Won a race here by panels one day. Should win again! Good Luck ! Monday November 6th 2006 Ratings for all Melbourne Cup Day Races Flemington , Melbourne November 7th 2006 PLEASE NOTE: All ratings for FLEMINGTON are for GOOD/DEAD track. Rail stays at 2M position (comes out around the back of the course, but that means little). NOT expecting disgraceful, dynamite leader bias we saw on Saturday, expecting with the extra traffic that horses will be getting off the inside as the day wears on. Straight races they seem certain to come to outside after Grandstand rail was panels in front of flat-side on Derby Day. Race 1 – Jayco Sprint 2yo – SW – 1000m The Big watch is obviously on ALINGHI’s little sister, 15-PERFECT PERSUASION. Trialled well, cost them $2.6Million…. 10-GRAVITRON has also trialled well and her dam produced the speed, and smart, Impaler. 1-ROYAL ASSCHER has the race form, out-bobbed at MV by Cinq Rouge who also quinella’d their previous meeting in fast time, spacing the rest of the field. 4-BEAUTY SCHOOL was backed as if unbeatable on debut but was hampered early, go well. Race 2 – Mares Hcp – 1700m
Race 3 – Hcp – 2800m
Race 4 – Listed Mares – 1400m
Race 5 – 3yo Hcp – 1000m
Race 7 - Gp1 MELBOURNE CUP - 3200m 12 - POP ROCK - Best run in the Caulfield Cup to my eye when 3 wide with trail to the 700m when sent 4-wide, then peeled wider coming to the turn losing ground off leaders/inside runners. He started to motor at the line despite not being able to be ridden-out by Damien Oliver which is just a great sign! Whilst all this was happening the winner/ runner-up got freak inside runs. Unlike Eye Popper last year he DID NOT have a gut-busting run in the Caulfield Cup, unlike Eye Popper last year he has NOT had a set-back into the Melb Cup and unlike Eye Popper he IS PROVEN backing up with a few weeks and running well. Doesnt get the handicap into this but is unproven at the 3200m (looks like he'll get it on Caul Cup run!) and work since Caulfield has been outstanding. Oliver rides! 13 - ZIPPING - One of the excellent Caulfield Cup runs when a mile back, came very, very wide on a day you couldnt and rattled home. His last 200m was as strong as anything in the race and wasnt beaten far. Went to Moonee Valley and did what he had to do and the blinkers go on him today. By Danehill and just needs to run a strong 3200m to be right in the finish. Most importantly, he has the class to win and top hoop on board. 24 - EFFICIENT - VRC Derby win was outstanding, mowing them down and coming right away out in the worst part of the track. The last 3yo to run in a Melbourne Cup was Nothin' Leica Dane who was placed (on heavy, behind Doreimus) and this horse seems to have a better turn of foot than 'Nothin Leica'. There is a question mark on the strength of our horses (a 9yo won Cox Plate) and I doubt very seriously this horse has finished improving yet (a 3yo by Zabeel!). Stable will not even run him if he is not 100%. Goes in! 4 - TAWQUEET - Terrific win in Metrop. which was proven an excellent form reference. Won the Caulfield Cup despite a check and shouldered into the clear like the big bull he is. This IS the sort of horse that wins Melbourne Cups and stable openly said a month ago The Melbourne Cup is his aim, anything else is a bonus. Two group 1's is a nice bonus but he will definitely run 3200m. That's the edge he has on the above three... Yes he had good runs to win both Gp1's and yes relative weights are against but winning form into a Melbourne Cup is what you want! Definitely! 5 - GEORDIELAND - The only hope any international horse has is if they settle into Australia, their class (remember Media Puzzle was just a b-grader over there) is irrelevant (to an extent). The word is this guy has thrived! He's eating everything, working the place down and has form around world-class galloper Yeats whom he meets 3kg better. Gets good run from 10 with World's best jockey on board... (he is over-due to win this!?!?). Goes in everything for mine. 2 - DELTA BLUES - Outstanding in Caulfield Cup. 3-wide, no cover until the 1400m (when got on the back of Grand Zulu), peeled 4-wide 600m and came into the race before really attacking the line. International jockey takes over (Ahhh!) but he has ridden a multitude of winners. Has not worked flash since but didnt work flash prior so disregard that. Some, like footballers, are just game-day performers. Big chance. 23 - MAYBE BETTER - All runs this prep either very good, or luckless. Great win in the Saab coming from off the pace on a day it was very difficult to do so and ran faster time than the Derby winner. Drops to 50kg into this and has scope to keep improving. There is no way this trainer (the equal of any in this country, probably the world, in my humble opinion) will let him run if he is not 100%. Love the way he has hit the line his last two wins. Live chance 11 - ON A JEUNE - Was ridden upside down for mine in Geelong Cup due to track bias. Was ridden cold the start before here when flying home under no serious riding (copped interference) under he steadier of 60.5kg. Enormous 2nd in this last year to champion Makybe Diva and loves just that bit of cut in the ground. Each-way chance. 1 - YEATS - World-Class horse and stable extremely confident. Has to cart the 59kg but drawn to get the good run and has world-class jockey to steer. Made a mess of the best UK horses earlier this year before slightly disappointing in St.Ledger last start (he still ran second!). Connections did umm & arrr about coming here after that. Reports are he's settled in very well. Obviously very hard to beat but is $6 'unders' ? We will soon know... 8 - ACTIVATION - Terrific in the Caulfield Cup and his run was as good as any in the Metrop. Doesnt get the penalty into this but does need to run 3200m and his last two at 2400m, he has just paddled the last 50m??? Only slight reservation. Tough draw too... Race 8 - Listed - HKJC Stks - 1800m 2 - POLAR BEAR - Excellent last start in the Coongy behind subsequent Saab winner Maybe Better when worked on very fast pace and joined the leaders 500m out (real swoopers race) and stuck on terrific. Was the best on-pacer there and beat home Show Barry who then ran 2nd to Zipping in MV Cup. Bet Of The Day! 7 - RUBIJON - No luck at all in the Coongy when never ridden. Forget that! Has the talent to win this race but has drawn out a touch? A Dead track will not harm his chances at all and suspect he is the value runner here... 5 - GALLANT GURU - Going very well since joining Freedman Stable. Beat the Werribee Cup winner at Geelong then simply too good in Moe Cup. Barrier draw no help but top jockey is and by race 8, doubt inside rail will be the best place anyway... 15 - MARJU SNIP - Stayed inside at MV (inferior ground) & had no luck securing a passage anyway. Always wide prior in strong form race. Fitter now and has a bit of class... Value runner. 12 – DR NIPANDTUCK – Was put out of business at the 200m last start in strong form race so forget that. Worked home well in traffic at Seymour. Great Flem record. In this… Race 9 - Open Hcp - 1200m 2 - AMYJAYE POWER - Drawn 18 which is perfect to get to outside rail. Was slow out and ran home very well (had 2nd-fastest last 400m) at Caulfield when the run-ons didnt have a great day in what was a fast race (Magnus ran second. Won inside division of Salinger). Very honest, go well. 1 - STRATTON PLACE - Super-honest sprinter who has been placed 13 of 16 at 1200m. Didnt get the luck at Geelong when in bumping duel on leader's track. Drawn perfectly! 10 - STEPTOE - Good win 1st-up and that form has proven quite strong. Won this race last year (track/trip) with 55kg. Nice draw. Chance again ! 7 - SHINZIG - 1st-up. Was not at his top last prep but still managed to run 5L off Fields Of Omagh in a Gp1 Futurity Stks won in track record time. Has a very good fresh record and stable flying! 11 - BYWAY - Was backed is if unbeatable at Cran 1st-up ($1.70 to $1.45) and since been given another little break (not sure all was ok?), has huge potential. Won a race here (1400m) in sizzling time by 4L one day! Race 10 - 1mw-ly - Chubb Plate - 1400m 14 - BODACIOUS HARMONY - Liked the run 2nd-up when winner (Amerryking) came around her, pushed her into traffic where she checked, balanced-up and hit the line nicely. That form is hot through Flash Trick/ Rockford Bay. 13 - STRATA TITLE - Good win 1st-up in what is shaping as a very good form race. Beaten narrowly this track/trip Cup Day last year. Has always shown good ability and may be ready to go right on this prep. Go well. 11 - MONTECHORO - Sat 4-wide on the speed at Caulfield so forget that. Was not far away and Truly Wicked has since enhanced the form. Should have won at MV prior. Value runner here! 1 - ROUBECHON - Has big weight but has raced against better opposition lately. Had every chance last start at Caulfield but was not far away and they ran sharp time. Fitter into this and gate 1 so should get good run. (Check pattern if gate 1 any help by race 19 in 4 days!!!) 7 - PACKING SUCCESS - Good on-pacer who was far from disgraced in strong Ansett Classic at Mornington. Solid on-pace win at Werribee and is never far away, and has upside, needs luck getting in from draw. Good Luck ! In fact, it was desirable to do so than stay on the inside section of track. |
