The adventures of Pelican Pete all began back in 2003 when he headed for Florida to change his life style a little, after he got tired of the old hum drum of Midwest USA.. and decided to seek some excitement in his life.. and boy oh boy did he get it!..
Life really changed for Pelican Pete when he met up with some Cuban, Italian and Albanian men who were involved in an un-official Casino Supplies business, specialising in non-genuine casino chips (sometimes referred to as running counterfeit casino chips), so the Pelican gave them a hand for about three months, as he liked helping out when he could, and in return got to live like a king at the pool bar at the Hilton on Clearwater Beach in Florida, where he had to budget tightly as he was only taking around (US) $2000 a week on his little venture at this time.
Pelican Pete got a taste of the Johnny Cash, and wanted more, so he became an investor in a 40' Catamaran when he chipped in some of his hard earned folding stuff, and started in a wrist watch business partnership with his new friend Noname, supplying extremely well priced Rolex watches up and down the Florida Coast. They would pick the watches up from a lovely Russian gentleman in Panama City Florida, and deliver them to Ebor City in Florida. Pelican did many more deliveries of various goods out of Islas De La Juventud in Cuba to Ponto Fijo in Venezuela, including Cuban cigars into the Florida Keys, and Bootleg Rum from Twalarney Ocho Rios in Jamaica throughout the Caribbean. Business was absolutely thriving with great profits and very low tax rate of 0.0%.
Then one day while doing a delivery of goods up the coast of Costa Rica to Bluefields in Nicaragua, Pelican Pete and Noname dropped anchor on the sunny shores of Big Corn Island for couple of days of relaxation, and to see if anybody needed any deliveries run out of the island. So they went down to a little local bar early that day and started drinking and drinking.. and drinking. An argument then started between Pelican and Noname when Pete refused to be involved with Noname's proposal of starting in the people transportation business, a business practice also referred to as the transporting of people from the tourist areas and selling them into sex camps in Venezuela. Pelican didn't want anything to do with it, so Noname got very upset and went back to the boat. Pelican stayed drinking with some locals and wound up passing out on the beach. When he awoke the next morning he headed back to the boat, but couldn't see Nomame and the boat anywhere.. they were now both history.
Pelican Pete was named "Pelican Pete" partly because of his love for feeding the Pelicans.. and the Pete part came from a very attractive, young woman drinking with them at the Hilton on Clearwater Beach in Florida, who could never pronounce his real name "Mike" very well, the closest she got was "Pete", so from then on Noname and his friends started introducing him to everyone as Pelican Pete.
The interview of Pelican Pete (aka Michael "Mick" Surnameless) was conducted by Mervyn E. Skilton on behalf of Shamozzle International News Network 2007
"Pelican Pete' is was one of the most interesting guys I've spoken to on chat webcams.. The 'Ol Pirate Pelican Pete lovesd a good yarn about anything and everything, and he would speak to you live, answering your typed messages, while he kicked back with a mug of rum, a ciggy or three and the odd whacco tobacco scoob. When Pete' was not home ,he was down the local bar or out catchin' crays, he left the cam going with some great Calypso, Reggae and Pirate music playin'.. so we took the trip to Big Corn Island, and we were hooked!.."
