An Australian dog who sings, dances and plays the piano has been voted the
country's top trivia item.
Dinky, the star attraction at a pub in the
outback, is a three-year old dingo, as Australia's wild dogs are known.
He beat hundreds of potential trivia icons through his talent for singing to piano
music, and even tapping the keys a little himself.
The competition was organised to celebrate
the 20th anniversary of the popular Trivial Pursuit board game.
Owner Jim Cotterill said he spotted the
dingo's talent when one of his daughters was playing the piano one day.

Saved from certain
death a couple of years ago, Dinky the dingo is now making a name for
himself as a star attraction at the Stuart’s Well Roadhouse which is
also known as Jim’s Place, 90 km south of Alice Springs on the Stuart
Highway.
A nearby cattle
station owner was conducting a dingo baiting program and realised some
dingo cubs had become orphaned on his property. Not wanting to abandon
the little animals to a slow death by starvation or to fall victim to a
predator, he set a cat-trap. Next morning it contained a dingo cub.
He gave it to Jim Cotterill at Jim’s Place to add to his collection of
native animals. Dinky became a pet. One day Jim took it into Alice
Springs . One of his daughters was playing the piano at home. Dinky
decided to provide the vocals and a showbiz career began.
