CAMEO FiLM 'SOULED OUT'
with 'STiCKS & STONES'

The Cameo Cinema in Belgrave was sold out for the first ever screening of Sticks & Stones by writer-director Liam Firmager from Melbourne. Firmager visits the underbelly of worship in The Dandenong Ranges, after his failed music dream of becoming the next Bono from U2, with this funny, sometimes violent, tongue-in-cheek tribute to the classic side of religious based crap filmmaking. The film interweaves in a circular, fractured manner, with a twist unravelled by the time the credits roll. The story focuses on Reverend James (Adam Garlepp) and Pastor Bob (Jeff Telford), two fighting religious nuts on duty for the same big boss, upstairs.
Pastor Bob's gorgeous wife, played by the very sexy Caroline Hawke, takes a liking to Reverend James and 'Elvis' Dave the Builder (Peter Donelly).

'House of Love'

Firmager can wear his cinematic creation proudly, with the way he brought the characters to life in this hip production suitable for people of all ages and demographics to enjoy. The result is a work that will change the face of independent cinema, making it a legitimate player in the art house arena. The cast step into their roles with obvious glee, and Firmager uses his soundtrack to up the cool ante yet another notch, and the 'voice of God' recordings make for a motion picture event that will work its way into the church vernacular.

 I give this film 4.5 / 5 beers.
