The flammability of bodily gases can cause very serious problems.. as seen in many medical practices and hospitals. Fart lighting is no laughing matter, unless you are a spectator at one of these events.
Fart Lighting is the ancient art and practice of young men seeking attention through setting fire to the gases produced by expelled flatulence. In some cultures it's referred to as the Blue Flame or Blue Blazer, but the flame is not always blue, it may be orange or yellow as well, depending on the composition of the gas and the flora living in the colon. Fart Lighting is conducted by lighting the gas produced by the rectum with fire, usually with the aid of a match or cigarette lighter. Why is this so?.. because the gas that passes from the buttocks contains methane and hydrogen. The lighting of the fart results in a flame explosion, and is considered very dangerous, as clothing or hair may catch fire causing skin damage, or worse, the flames can be drawn back inside the body causing horrific burning to the internal organs.The ancient culture of Fart Lighting was alive and well, over 60 years ago during World War 2 when Spike Milligan admitted his involvement in the practice of this dangerous pastime along with other wartime soldiers in army dormitories.

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut with Kenny McCormick dying after attempting to light a fart.. Dumb and Dumber with Jim Carrey lighting a fart.. Beavis and Butt-head with Beavis severely burning himself lighting a fart.. Caveman starring Ringo Starr in an extended sequence of fart lighting.. and also in the Family Guy twice.
